All glucose and insulin numbers are off. My best guess is pre-diabetes, insulin resistance, something in that area. Family history there!!
Me too and been there done that. The good news is that stuff is reversible. If you want, PM me any time. If you like to read, here are 2 good book recommendations....

"Natural Health and Weight Loss" by Barry Groves and
"Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes
Thanks WZ. I have a feeling I have a lot of reading ahead of me. :)

Well even though your anxiety is probably sky high right now at least you are on your way to some answers!

If you get into a researching mood read up on the benefits of a low glycemic index diet. Food sensitivities aside, just focusing on blood sugar control there is plenty of great food to eat, just a few tweaks here and there and you will do fantastic!

That is something I had discussed with the doc. so I've started reading some. It can get overwhelming....
my anxiety is down some from where it was earlier. You know, I think I'm mostly mad at myself for getting to this point.
But even if I walk into her office next week and she calls it Type 2 diabetes, I'll cope. And make the changes I need to make.

I have done A LOT of reading over the past 3 years. These are the two best and will save you a TON of time. The second one is a hard read (it is targeted towards grad students) but it is the best.

I have a couple of lectures by the author (links) that will give you a primer....and they are FREE :D

My mommy rocks! She has been looking for a Wii Fit Plus bundle. She didn't tell me but the other day she happened to discover that the Target store closest to her had them in stock. She bought TWO!! I set it up and just did my first real work out. I have to be careful of my feet (plantar fasciitis) but I did it! Wasn't happy at being weighed. Really not happy, but that's about to change right? ;)

Survived Cub Scouts. Only three boys since DS was home sick and one other boy was MIA. We had fun. I must have had a good activity because the boys from other dens kept wandering over to see what we were doing.
Came home and changed into my boots then headed over to our vicar's house to take care of the animals. They are away on a retreat. DS usually helps for pay but he didn't feel up to it. So I fed and watered the three sheep, cleaned the angora bunny's litter box and fed and watered her too. Went in and gave the kitties fresh water and food. Everyone is tucked in and happy. Including DS.

Sorry to hear about your and your son's health problems, but at least you are finally getting somewhere and getting some answers.
I think it will be good, if they can be addressed by changing the diet. At least you can have some control, even if it is more work.

And I'm sure between us all , we'll come up with recipes and ideas to help you along.

To your good health :hugs

Thanks! I'm doing okay. Wishing work weren't so busy and I could do some more research.
Brought the bunny to the vet. RIP Ringo. It was sad but he was looking so frail that it was a relief too. I feel guilty but I called about the pound bunnies. We're going to meet them tomorrow after school. The vet tried to sell me two goats...... I resisted... for now.
