Sigh, the buns were adorable. In tiny cages. It broke my heart but I only brought home one. :( I couldn't choose the little albino girl. She looked too much like our Ringo in miniature and I feel guilty enough getting a new bun so soon. But this little girl has been at a dog pound since before Christmas! She was a couple of months old then. She is friendly, curious and sweet. Has a glossy black coat and big brown eyes. She came with the name Celeste which makes me think of Queen Celeste of Babar fame. We'll probably change it.
So if you know anyone in the Eastern CT or RI area looking for a small young female albino bunny, I know where there is one who needs a good home!

Well, if the Wii Balance Board is any sort of accurate I've lost almost 7 lbs. I think I've been eating better, not perfect but better. Increased veggies and activity, decreased starchy stuff. Simple, natural foods, hardly any processed stuff.
I see the naturopath Monday and I'm sure she'll weigh me so we'll see what her scale says.

The rescue bunny is settling in nicely. She's very friendly and not afraid of the activity level in this house at all. The dogs and cats are curious but getting less so. I have her in a bigger cage than she was in at the pound. She is not using the litter box. :( but we will work on that. DS wants to name her Martha. Martha? Hmmmm. It's growing on me.

Martha sounds like a perfect name for her. It sounds like this bun is to be a pet?

Yes, bunnies are strictly pets here. We were considering a fiber bunny but then I heard these little ones needed a home. I wish we had room and time for both. Or that they were bonded and could be housed together but they're not. If she comes out to play later I'll take some pictures!

Our neighbors raise bunnies and they are just beautiful. But they eat them!

Can't do that.
Won't do that.
Don't even want to think about it. :hit

I can't either but I know people who do. But I also won't eat lamb or veal.... I'm a big baby! I don't eat my own chickens either. I try to buy my meat either from the CSA we belong to or find grass feed beef and organic free range chicken when I can get it. I've had some luck at Whole Foods which is a twice monthly trip for me. I can't get grass fed in the grocery stores here. I can get buffalo meat though.

Just had some yummy Tuscan White Bean soup. I've got a kabocha squash baking which will be turned into soup tomorrow.
I've got a finished batch of yogurt, part of which I want to strain for the whey so I can use it on some grated daikon.
Feeling like I'm on a good path. :)

Thanks!!! I had a piece of pumpernickel bread at dinner and felt so guilty. :/ I'm curious what the naturopath will have to say about that one gluten related test that was off....
