H23, After 30 yrs I finally get a decent pie crust. Not great, just decent. It is still not flakey but at least I didnt have to throw the whole batch out lol. Can I tell you a secret? I think it was the kitchen aid!!!

Crust gets better with salt, I promise you!! Try try again!

If there is any confusion, I probably caused it.....I have a memory like swiss cheese, with huge holes in it...I forget what I was talking about a lot!

Letterboxing is very similar to Geocaching! Here in California, some caches are both, with letterboxing and cache logs for both enthusiasts!
I am tfpets on Geocaching.com, another hobby my family indulges in. Except for the expense of gas, which has limited our Geocaching recently, it is a pretty inexpensive hobby, and we love it!!Tina/tfpets

ROFL, you got my day started with a chuckle!
I have a Kitchen Aide, it hasn't helped yet. I try again everynow and then. I'll try the salt idea.
I have done a little geocaching too. I don't have my own GPS but my mom got herself one. We've got tons of letterboxes and caches around us (CT is one of the heaviest planted states for letterboxing!) We'll never get done finding them all! It's a great way to get my son out into the woods. There's a goal to the hike! ;)

My Hubby and I want to plant a geocache in the water (lake Superior or lake Michigan, maybe Tahquamenon river), so that only the kayaker/canoeists, boaters can find it.......to figure out how...hmmm. :)

I know there are letterboxes like that around here. Try a search of the forums of www.atlasquest.com or www.geocaching.com
There should be info there for you.
