Show us a card please.

Aren't they fun at that age. I had lots of fun when I was a Cubmaster.

Woohoo! I got 8 eggs today!! That's our all time record. We've got 12 hens but some aren't laying yet. Now that one of my barnevelders has started I've got 9 who are laying. I only got one green egg today so I know who the slacker is! I'm stunned that my older mutt Sasha has layed an egg everyday for over a week. She is my only white egg layer so I'm sure of this! She's a little egg laying machine! Maybe she's making up for all the eggs she hid on me over the years. Now with the big new coop and all the other hens setting a good example for her she's really getting the job done!

Thanks for the pics, they are sooo cute! Wanted to check all day and was BURIED in the boys room like I promised I would be...just now got a break (even worked after they fell asleep!)
Those cards are precious...its the personal touch that really means so much, those are beautiful....and little Alex's look of concentration! Man!
That cat looks like it could be very very indignant, I dont know how you could have left it home if it wanted to go? Its hard being owned by strong willed cats sometimes!
Yay eggs! Thats more than I get from 80+ chickens some days, darn freeloaders! Most are pretty young still, The adults are just getting out of molt, and we just had a cold snap....very short days now too, rotten luck!
Take care!
Tina

Our days are getting colder and shorter too. I keep watching for signs of molt. I know it's coming. So far so good. Other than Sasha my hens are all pretty young too. They hatched in early April last year, except for my roo who was a February baby. But he's not laying any eggs either LOL

Aaaaaaahh! Laryngitis!! I could barely talk this morning. I went in to sub anyway. I was covering for PPT meetings. There were 3 scheduled and one got cancelled. Booooooring! I helped out in preschool in between. I'm doing the same thing tomorrow. I need my voice for next week. This is not good!!!

Stayed home sick yesterday. Couldn't talk at all. Even had to have DH call me in sick because the woman I needed to talk to couldn't hear me. Went in today for what should be my last day subbing. Still don't know exactly which schools I'll be working in or when I'm expected to be there. I do the personnel department thing Monday morning. It's frustrating not knowing. I need to get my hands and head in there and figure out what's what. Still coughing, still hoarse. Tired. Have an all-day Cub Scout leader Pow Wow tomorrow. I'm excited to go but at the same time the timing isn't the best. I could use a day at home resting and getting my "stuff " together. Oh well, can't be helped and it will have been worth it in the end.
The big news?? I collect NINE eggs today! I have 12 hens and as far as I'm aware only 9 of them are laying so I got 100% eggs from my laying girls today!! It's our new record. :D

That must be wonderful! My silly chickens are finishing a molt and are taking their sweet time getting back into the swing of laying.....all the while eating their fool heads off!

I'll let you in on a little secret cure for oncoming colds, sniffles, allergies and such, if you would like. Now, you have to do it exactly like I tell you or it won't be very effective. My family and I have used this on numerous occasions with great success.

Fix yourself a hot drink, run a very hot bath and select a very warm robe and socks. Drink hot drink while soaking in very hot (as you can stand it) bath....don't soak until the water gets cool, keep refreshing it if you have to. When you feel like you are about to burn up, get out of the bath, towel off vigorously, put on your robe, put Vicks Vapor Rub on your chest and the soles of your feet and put on your socks. Take a Benadryl to help you sleep, wrap up in as many blankets as possible and go to sleep. Somewhere in the night you will probably shuck off some blankets but try to keep them around you as long as possible. You may be uncomfortably hot but just let it happen.

In the morning you will feel about 50-75% better. As the day progresses you will notice that you are better than yesterday. By the second day, I usually only have very mild, if any, symptoms that I had before I started. This process works even better if you drink 3 glasses of orange juice a day for 3 days. All of these actions boost your immune system immediately and speeds the white blood cells to their target. This has worked for me every time anything resembling a cold has started. To feel better in 2-3 days as opposed to 2 weeks to a month? I'll take it!

Worth a shot and won't cost you anything to try!
