WOOT! Great sock :)

I have winter skirts to finish up here soon and then my summer clothes. I better not grow any more >.>

That's what put winter clothing on hold. But I think if I leave an inch growth I'll be okay.

I've been wanting to start sewing summer skirts myself. I have some pretty fabric, floral with a white background. I want to make a long skirt with maybe lace around the bottom. A friend loaned me this book http://www.amazon.com/Sew-What-Skir...6259/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1296617968&sr=8-1 and I got some ideas from it. I've since returned the book but am toying with the idea of buying my own copy. Or I'll get brave and make a pattern from a skirt whose cut I really like. And then knit a pair of cute little ankle socks to go with it.... :D

Cute book!! I cannot sew from things I've already made. I don't know why. I guess I don't trace things right?? LOL!

I love full circle skirts. And petticoats. :love

Doing a few sundresses this year, and then long flowy skirts and tank tops.

MP you want a skirt??? :p

I am pretty sure I just saw that book at my local Michaels(craft store) the other day. I have done two skirts this month. I need a new shape. They are just not very flattering.

Comfy but too fluffy around the waistline. I don't need any more fluffy up there. :D

:gig I'm pretty sure he meant a pair of socks. I hope. But whatever!! To each his own. :D
I want to copy this skirt for just that reason. I like the way it flows and drapes, not too bulky, not too fitted. And definitely not too fluffy around the waistline which I agree is not for me!! You probably did see the book. It seems to be in the bookstores everywhere right now and it's pretty new. If I were a little younger and a lot thinner I could have some fun with it!
We are home yet again. Ice this time. It's messy out but really just raining. There's a light coating of ice on everything but not causing problems. The noon news was full of stories of more roof collapses though. My hometown is having major problems with some of the flat roofed buildings on Main Street. It was really kind of emotional looking at those gorgeous old brick buildings falling apart. I imagine that it was a little like looking at the after math of an earthquake only much less devastating.

Here is a link to the story if you're curious.

Just found DS and DH in the basement clearing off DH's old Necci sewing machine. Seems he has a hovercraft seat cover to sew. We're not the only ones with sewing on our minds this nasty winter day! We all sat and watched a promotional dvd sent to DH by Universal Hovercraft. Nice sunny weather out on the water. Sigh!!! Sooooo glad that darned groundhog didn't see his shadow today!!
