I know exactly where you are....because I am RIGHT THERE with ya! It has been a struggle to get anything done around here and the most minimal project is as bad as mucking out 20 chicken coops in my mind. Makes me wanna cry some days from the sheer frustration of it all :( Hugs to you girl! Maybe we'll BOTH hear something SOON before we both go crazy :p

I'm wishing hubby wasn't working. We'd get a lot done here as well.

Oh yes rain. Ugh. I looked out at one point and storm's legs were almost completely brown all the way up. Filthy for a gray horse. He was in a nice mood this morning so I groomed him for a bit after he ate and was crunching dust despite keeping my mouth shut. Now I really need a netipot!
Saturday was largely unproductive. I had a meltdown after I broke one of my Christmas bowls and that gave me a headache that morphed into the headache from hell. I ended up in bed for the afternoon and didn't sleep it off until about 3 am.
Got up Sunday and we were able to actually get stuff done. We went grocery shopping and had breakfast at my favorite cafe and got back here and did barn chores before heading down to the workshop with the bfs brother M to work on the feeders. We fixed the last tweaks on the one we completed last week and got started on the next one. We were able to complete it in 5 hours with the 3 of us working. We had a few odd spots that we had to adjust on the fly but it went together really fast. I think we could get it some even faster depending on how we set things up next time. We have 2 more of the small size to build and I'm contemplating doing both at the same time because I think it Would be most efficient for our time. That, and I really want to get these done and delivered so we can get paid. I need to do some calculating this week to ensure that we are actually making good profit for 15 man hours of labor. Selling ourselves short isn't good!
For the friend's horses feed then the horses here feed and am cooling off a but since it warmed up quick when the Sun came up.
The sheets are getting washed today, then I need to work on some meals for later this week. We are doing burgers and dogs on the grill tonight, and I think I might go ahead and get organized for some of the other meals later this week. I need to make sure I stay on the ball with that so we actually eat Well. I should probably throw another loaf into the breadmaker as well for my breakfast since it tastes better and is probably marginally better for me being home made.

Crunching numbers on these hay feeders... apparently 12' board lengths get you the cheapest price per foot. Who knew?! For a 12' 2x6 it's 57 cents per foot versus 60 cents for a 16' and 95 cents for 8'. That's serious savings! 2x4 are not quite as dramatic but still a savings when buying the 12' length over both shorter and longer sizes. Who knew? Home depot looks to be cheaper on the gate hardware but Lowe's is definitely cheaper on the lumber. I don't really care if I do have to go to 2 stores if I can get the best price somewhere else I will. More money stays in my pocket!

For quite a bit done yesterday. I managed to get the sheets changes on the bed and hung to dry and the bed remade. For my chicken stock and extra jars put away. Worked on the hay feeder numbers. Got hamburgers made for dinner. Cleaned up the kitchen from that. Got a phone call to work the expo this weekend so that Will be a little bit of cash. Applied to a few more jobs on craigslist. Replied to a couple inquiries about boarding. Got the barn super cleaned up expecting someone to come for a visit, which for postponed to Wed but at last that's done.
The bf for home early, it was still daylight! We Sat down and crunched numbers on the hay feeders and things look pretty good. If we can get faster and more efficient we'll make more money so that Will be the key. I must call the net people and negotiate to See if I can get the price down and get a sample today.
We cooked burgers and dogs on the grill for the first time. The propane bottle ran out right after he started cooking and so then he had to get it refilled, thankfully the true value right up the street does it for cheap. So we finally got those cooked and ate dinner but it was still only 7:00. We lazed around and went to need early and I slept really good!
Today I'm going to be busy.
I have to feed here, go take care of my friend's horses, get gas, go pick up some feed, take feed to my other friend, come home and figure out dinner, call the netting companies, fold the sheets, continue to try to clean up a but more in the house, and probably some other things I have forgotten.
The good news is the bf got another call back from the job, they want him to come in for more paperwork and a background check. I'm praying he gets of early enough he can Do that today because that Will take about a Week to come back. The faster he gets all of this some the faster he can get away from this crappy dead end Job and on to something less stressful with more room to move up.
I guess I should get my butt moving if I'm going to get all that done...

Is that the Timonium MD horse expo you're going to? I had thought about going, but didn't see any clinics I really wanted to see.
