Tom, before you study too much further, take a while to look through this historical book. It will solidfy for you, why all of us have kicked the modern mindset to the curb.

Yes, I am REALLY feeling at home now. Mind if I take off my shoes and stay a while?
LOL. Sure! Enjoy a nice cuppa.

YES! That's the one! I also don't really like the "real" dressings but am going to try to retrain my taste buds and see what happens.
You should try searching Food.com for a replacement recipe. You can get the seasonings and put it in cottage cheese for a dip, too.

I have to be honest. Sometimes I wonder about diabetes or pre. When I eat a big meal, I get light headed, gain weight easily now, get very grumpy when i am over hungry, etc. My Mom's sister had it.
The advice you are getting is actually the best "cure" for diabetes there is. You don't want to go on insulin. You want to eat healthy so your body can support itself.

Diabetes is metabolic and, unless you actually don't have a working pancreas, diet is the way to fix it!

I did decide LONG ago that I will NOT completely forbid anything from my food list. Just moderate. I mean, we all have to live life and get some enjoyment even if it isn't the best thing for us, right? As you say, just have to be willing to suffer the consequesces and be honest with yourself and not over do it.
I have a lot of foods that eating even a LITTLE has... bad consequences LOL. They still aren't banned though or I'll have to eat them. They're in the "stupid to eat" category.

Feel free to roll your eyes when you see my name, but just treat me like an annoying 5 year old who just keeps asking "WHY" all the time! :gig
:D They do that to me, too, I'm sure. Especially on my social questions. Not sure this is the best group to get social advice from, but they have great answers ;)

Hey Tom, your pup is still young. My first was lost to bone cancer at 9...then I switched (by then 7 year old)Big Jane to a better diet, mostly meat...went raw and then to Wellness and raw bones from the butcher--just easier. Big dog Jane was pushing 12 when she had to be put down last month, and that is pretty old for a St.

Anyway, feed yourself and your pup better and you will both be around for a long time. ;)

Eta: Not implying that you feed her the wrong diet. :)
No offense taken at all. I had to switch her food a while back due to ear yeast infections. She is now on Harmony Farms chicken. Doing much better! I would LOVE to take her to a raw diet, but right now I just don't have the $$$.

They truly are great dogs huh?
