Cute goats. Be careful, you may want more! They are like potato chips. I started with 2 and now I have 15. :D

It started raining here about 3pm and hasn't stopped. A very nice light rain that should soak into the ground. We can use it.

I would love to have 15, but we have space issues. So it can't happen. But if I ever move - watch out! Goats galore.

They survived their first day here. I feel very comfortable with them. They are total lovebugs. They are trying to learn all the new noises around here - it's very different from where they came. Trains, chickens, distant traffic, school buses, and neighbors all cause them to stand still and listen intently.

DH said they are more dog-like than our actual dog. Our dog is a high energy spaz.

2 things:
I discovered that Boraxo powdered soap removes icky goat smell from hands. Please don't tell me if it's bad for me, it got the goat smell off :D

You can herd unruly ducks into their house using a laser pointer and no real expenditure of energy on your part :p

I know nothing about goats, but I am laughing at the image of herding them with a laser pointer. are they afraid of the light? or do they follow it?

I herded the ducks, not the goats.:D I tried it with the goats and they want to grind it into the ground and stomp on it. Silly girls.

Rainy Monday morning shenanigans.
So the ducks were raising heck about something and I went out to check - they were freaked out about the sunflower seeds I sprinkled on their food dish  These duck run away from all treats, so I should have thought about that.
5 minutes later. Ducks raising heck again. I run out there to see the kittens, whom I so thoughtfully purchase grain free chow for - chowing down at the duck dish.  My ducks are THE biggest chickens in the yard, they are afraid of everything!

Meawhile the goats were talking to me "hey, how 'bout you bring us some of that duck chow?" Sorry girls, I'm trying to keep you alive. But I'll scratch your cheeks for a bit :love
