OK so I called the specialist this morning and spoke with the administrative gal in the office and she told me they do not normally accept medicaid for adults at their office but she would speak to the dr this afternoon and call me back this afternoon or tomorrow to let me know if he would accept me or not. Some background on the medicaid. Since I have been laid off from my job for over a year and I can't get my fiance's insurance until we are married medicaid decided I was eligible for medicaid but only for the month of July. VERY Weird! So since finding out this stuff about the Vertigo I'm trying to get ahold of someone in that office that can consider extending the medicaid for at least 2 or 3 months until I get married. Unfortuneately after and hour on the phone, a dead battery and being transferred and referred to 5 different numbers I still haven't had the pleasure of speaking to anyone in that dept. So I try again tomorrow and wait to hear from the dr at the Specialist office.

On a different note, I may be selling my 4 blue swedish hens (ducks) that I have not been able to find a drake for in over a year and getting 6 choc muscovie hens (ducks) and 1 choc drake from a friend of mine. Other than the one white drake Im growing out for the freezer this would be my first muscovies. I also have 10 black and white muscovy eggs in the bator from another friend that has those colors. The good thing is the friend that is takin my blue crested and non crested blue hens has a flock of black swedish, she said she will give me all the eggs I want if I decide I can't live without my wonderful swedes.

We had our wedding shower last evening and it turned out really good. I had lots of fun and got to hang out with some very dear friends that I haven't got to see in a while. It was definitely a good thing affter the crap that I went through on saturday. (The ER and the bad news)

Oh I wish you were closer to me. I'd give you my BS drake! It's not that I don't like him, I've just got one drake too many and Spotty won't give the hens a break!
I worked with a woman who had Meniere's disease. I hope you're feeling better soon. I haven't kept in touch with her since I left that office so I don't know how she's doing. I remember how awful she felt before she was diagnosed though. Not fun. :/

Thanks everybody for the encouragment. I found out that the medicaid office will not extend my medicaid past July 31st and that the Specialist the ER gave me a written referral to will not accept medicaid. Now I have to figure out what specialist will accept and how I get a referral to see them..Meanwhile try and get this all done and some test before July 31st. It looks very daunting at this time. I at least wanted to be able to nail down what it actually is. I read on wikipedia that tumors also mimic the symptoms of Meniers. Talking on the phone between medicaid and DCF is a NIGHTMARE. The ER doctor prescibed Meclizine to help with the episodes. I just started taking it. I have to take it every 6 hours so I only have a 5 day supply. So far it has just helped me rest DEAD TO THE WORLD but at least I got some rest.

I am sorry bout all the medical stuff...certainly no fun! At least in a couple months you will have ins. If it is really serious you could always have a small very private ;) civil ceremony to get you covered and then still go ahead with your official plans.

Good luck!

Well another brick wall. No specialist in NW Fl accepts medicaid. I could try to go through Shands but its a HUGE rigamoroe and by the time any of that gets going my medicaid will be way over.

Believe me I'm really starting to consider this Civil Service.

OK so I stopped taking those horrible meds and yesterday I finally started feeling like myself again. I managed to make some changes and additions to my old pig pen to convert it into a new big pen for my trio of Rouen ducks. Sunday Im going to get my new flock of chocolate muscovies and they are going to go into my Huge chicken run where I normally have all my ducks. That way I can have two different kinds and keep them seperate and pure. One of these days soon I hope to get my hands on some Runners or appleyard ducks (or eggs) because I eventually want to replace the Rouens with them since Rouens are so saturated in my area. Haven't got to do any canning but I hope I can make some more pickles and relish this weekend. At least get some pectin and make some more blackberry jelly or blackberry and strawberry jam. After being in that funk for a while im feeling very productive.

So this weekend I didnt do any canning as planned. Maybe next weeken. I did get my muscovies so far they are OK, I hope they lay alot of eggs. I also went and spent some time with my dad. Someone gave him a huge boat with a nice galvanized trailor. The boat needs some repair so we are going to make into a House boat to put at the river and use for camping and hunting. I also got to help him disbatch some extra roostes and buck rabbits for the freezer. I managed to find him a nice Tom turkey for his hens and struck a great deal to trade some of his baby rabbits for it. All and all a pretty productive weekend. Hopefully I will be able to make it to the auction this Thursday I really need to stock up on some bread.

OK So last night was very exciting!!! I FINALLY made cheese for the first time!! I have been wanting to make some for so long now. I made probably the simplest cheese you can possibly make. Queso Blancho with Goatmilk. It worked out great. This is the tip of the iceberg with what I want to do. I'm DYING to make Mozerella. I wish I could find and REALLY Easy SMALL batch recipe that doesnt call for a million gallons of milk so If i fail I wont have wasted too much.

Today im continuing to juice all these scupplins (scuppernongs) to make some more scupplin Jelly this weekend. I am going to the auction tonight to stock up on some more bread. Hope I dont bring home too many critters or junk. Saturday Im taking some baby rabbits and fully fledged biddies as well as some other stuff to the flea market near my dads house. Will also be butchering a boar hog at his house too. Can always use more lard. Whew im going to be having a busy weekend.
