Please say a prayer for the families and firefighters in OK. My son, grandson and daughter in law, and her family has been evacuated from their home. The fire moved so quickly, they were not able to get the animals out....so far, the house is OK....please...pray it stays OK. There are several dogs in there, and the chickens...they will have no way to escape! The evac. was so rapid, they were not able to grab anything...pictures, papers...nothing. Just get in the car and GO! At least they are safe....thats the MAIN thing.

Oh, I'm so sorry that they had to leave so quickly like that! I know they will be stressing over the animals and all. Prayers going out for sure!

Well, the update is...they were able to go back home, and the fire is out, near them. Of course they will have to watch for hot spot flare ups.....all the animals are OK. Thank you God!!! All is well.

Good to hear their ok.

Fires can be very scary. When we had wild fires a few years back we kept a rubbermaid tub packed right next to the front door. It had all my important papers and picture disc. That and my emergency pack.

Maybe you could make them a list.

Prayers for their safety.

Thank you Tanks. Yes, I talked to them last night, and told them to do the same. They were evacuated so quickly, there was no time to grab anything! Not even pets!! Scary...I pray they get some rain there soon!

Well, it looks like so far, they are out of immediate danger. The firefighters are working so hard out there, and their neighbors place is in jeopardy.
On the home front....ITS HOT!!! Tomorrow they are saying triple digits. :th Today I spent the morning canning spaghetti sauce, then a few green beans. I still have a few tomato's to take care of, I will be canning them for stew's. Picked a few more green peppers, and now have 6 bags in the freezer. This makes me feel good, as I use a lot of peppers in cooking. :drool My poor Brussels sprouts..well....nothing so far. They are green, just not setting on heads. I am sure I just need to water them more...when I find the time! LOL
Since the weather will be so hot tomorrow, I watered the gardens this evening really well then cleaned and filled the ducks pools and the water troughs. Tomorrow 3 of the ducks will be going to a new home....then Monday I will be getting 2 more...from the rescue. My plan is to integrate the 2 pens, and hopefully everyone will get along. This will allow me to dig a small pond for them all, and get rid of the pools...I hope. Lost my Buff Orpington rooster today, He was about 4 years old, and was fighting Bumble foot. Luckily I have a younger roo, to take his place.
The turkeys are laying AGAIN! This is the 3rd time this year. Hopefully we will get a few turkeys out of this batch. Crazy birds! I have a broody hen, so I will steal a few of the turkey eggs, and plop her butt down on them. I refuse to do the work when I have a hen that can, and will! LOL
So I met a woman at the Wal Mart the other day. I was coupon shopping...she was too. She struck up a conversation about the products we were looking for, and then told me she has a facebook page where a few woen get together to trade sales ideas, and coupons. She asked me to join, and when I told her I really do not have the time for another forum, with the farm and rescue...she was interested about the rescue. She asked for my info, and said that her group picks one charity a month to help out. So, I gladly gave her my info. ;)
If all goes well....I will have a new home for the Donkeys. I would love to keep them, however, I know I really do not have the space for them. Reality sucks, I really fell for these 2. So sweet!!
One of my ewes started coughing today. I talked to a friend that has had sheep for years, she informed me that lung worm is rampant right now. UGH! Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and go get Ivermectin for them.
Really not a whole lot of interesting going on here, just the daily grind. Mending fences almost daily..(darned pig!) chasing piglets...almost daily....canning, and cheese making.
