Sorry Dac, it's easy to forget how fortunate we are sometimes...I wish my parents were closer, though, sometimes cause we don't really get to do anything without our kids. Chad is really fearful of leaving them with a sitter that is not family so we very rarely get to have a night out to ourselves.

It has gotten easier to go do things alone because he will keep the kids when I need to go out and vice versa. We usually go hunting in shifts, he takes the am shift and I take the pm shift! He gets up at 4 am everyday anyway and I usually get up when the kids get up around 7 or 7:30.

Tyler drove his gator until the battery went dead today. Tonka got out and ran after the neighbor's dog and one of the other neighbors got a lead rope and brought him back to me...I gave him some fresh eggs as a thank you! My neighbor's dog is always coming to my house and messing up my day, he actually bit Tonka today. Meanwhile, I'm trying to chase the dog one way and the kids are going the other...whew. I was soooo glad when Chad got home and I could go cook dinner and get a break!

Watching reruns of Jon and Kate plus 8 and trying to get Tyler back in the bed....killin me! That boy will not stay in his bed.

I feel blessed to live only minutes from my grandchildren. For the last 12 years, we've lived 45 min. from my parents and it gets harder each year.

Sounds like your children have some awesome grandparents that shower them with love and hugs. It's nice you're able to have extended visits with them.

Did your daughter get the McDonalds drive thru? My grandson wanted that, but we were unable to find it.

Well, its been a rough couple of days...13 loads of laundry. I had to make detergent again. Madelyn started throwing up yesterday morning about 9:30 and continued about every 30 minutes until she finally fell asleep at around 3. Then at 4 she started going in reverse and hasn't stopped with the diarrhea (spelling?) since. Tyler started with the funky tummy 2 days ago and has had loose bms since. Then he started throwing up today at about 3 o'clock.

Maddie's little bottom is so sore...bless her heart, I feel so bad for her. Every time she poops she cries and runs for me...it is like water. Tyler has thrown up every hour and can't even keep water down, poor thing. He finally fell asleep in our bed with Chad, who threw up at about 8pm and now feels horrible. I'm exhausted.

Everyone is asleep so I figured I would get on here and see how everyone's last day of 2008 has been. Looks like I will ring in the new year by myself this year.... :(

Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully everyone will be feeling better and I won't get this mess...I've washed my hands so many times they're raw. It's been so windy here today...just awful...it even blew over our grill and it is not light. Sounded like a bomb going off. I tried to get on the computer earlier today but the wind just kept messing up the connection. It has calmed down considerably now so hopefully I can stay on for a while.

Well, Happy New Year everyone!!! May we all have a wonderful, prosperous, joyous, faithful, happy, family filled 2009! :fl

I hope I don't get this mess too...Tyler is now on the couch with me after throwing up again... and Chad just came down the hall with the trash can so I'm guessing he threw up again too. I have been sleeping in Tyler's bed by myself the last 2 nights and the kids have been with Chad so hopefully I can avoid all of this myself. Poor Chad, he's off work tomorrow and is supposed to guide a paying hunt in the morning...got to be there at 5am. Knowing his fool self he'll go and be throwing up in a field somewhere...men, what are we gonna do with 'em?

Hope everyone is better today. Sure hope it bypasses you.
Did Chad go on the hunt this morning? Your DH is definately not like mine. Mine would have called everyone the minute he got sick and said sorry guys - not happening. Then he would have been worse than all the kids put together. That throwing up thing kills him. Now if he cut a leg off, he would just hop around and say "I'm alright, really, no you don't need to call an ambulance, just hand me the chainsaw so I can finish cutting down these trees".
But throwing up and a headache will send him straight to bed acting worse than a two year old.

2Dream...your hubby sounds like mine! He has been just pitiful today. I have seen him cut his finger to the bone, stick it in a freezing river and put duct tape on it so he could keep hunting but this has had him down for the count. One of his partners kept calling his cell last night and so I finally called him back and told him what was going on at 12:15. He had me set his alarm for 4:30 so he could get up and take the trailer to the guys with all the equipment. I don't think any of them went to be honest...I know Chad didn't go. His back muscles are really hurting from all of the bending over the toilet.

My son is totally better....DD is still battling the funky tummy. Poor thing, all she has wanted to do today is sit in the bathtub. I think I have put her in there like 8 or 9 times today. She just sits there. At least I got her to eat a PB&J before she went to bed...she is also complaining that her eyes hurt and that her teeth hurt...don't know what that's about. She was cutting all 4 of her eye teeth so they might be affecting her too.

I think everyone will be better tomorrow. My best friend Angie has it now too...I really hope it doesn't hit me. I had to do another load of laundry today too...diaper leaked on the couch cushions. I didn't catch it until i sat in it...had to wash my clothes too.

I did get 4 eggs today, on a positive note! 4 of my 6 girls are laying, I can handle that! They are all excited cause I have started to give them some of the xmas leftovers...they got green beans today and some mashed potatoes. They looooove me! Come runnin every time I come out the back door. They even followed me to the clothesline today! I looked at them and said, "what, do you want to eat my laundry now too?"

I am starting to order seed catalogues and think about what I want to do about a garden this year. i can't make up my mind about what I want to plant and what I want to buy at the farmer's market. I have decided that it will probably be best for me to buy corn and beans and maybe tomatoes at the market. I definitely want to plant peppers, some herbs, cukes, zucchini and squash. I would also like to plant some lettuces and spinach and maybe some broccoli later but I am still trying to decide.

It's up in the air because of the house situation. We want to move so planting a garden may have to take a backseat to finding a house. We just need more room, the walls are closing in and we have no room for family when they come to visit...and they come often. We end up sleeping on the floor in the living room and sometimes the kitchen. We want to be in a better school system but it will be more expensive to move to Powhatan county.

We'll have to see...got to have room for all the new chickens and goats and pigs and cows and rabbits and stuff that we want to have, right!?! :fl

You guys are rubbing off on me! :love
