Sorry to hear about your little one. Back in the day, the pediatrician told me to make jello water for the kids to drink when they got diarrhea bad. I guess these days, they recommend pedialyte so the kids don't get dehydrated.

Good news! My mom and Granny are here for the next few days! The calvary has arrived!

Bad news! Madelyn tried to get out of her high chair by herself, hit her chin on the kitchen table, and bit through her tongue.

Why me?

:D

I tripped over my uncle's tool box when I was little and put my teeth threw my bottom lip! I still have a scar!

Yeah, she's fine... :) not much I could do about it anyway. Tyler tripped and fell and put his bottom teeth through his lip when I was pregnant with Maddie. Couldn't do a darn thing about it but I waddled to the car (in my pajamas) and took him to the er. Chad was hysterical! He felt so guilty cause he was the one chasing him down the hall when he fell. I told them to stop but no one ever listens to mama!

I didn't panic...gave her a piece of ice and put her in the tub. She's gonna be one of those girls that takes a good long bath when something goes wrong. That girls loves her tub time!

Oh poor Maddie. I know that hurt. At least a long bath helped her feelings if not her tounge. I would still be screaming.

I am so glad it did not require stitches!! When 9 yo got his hand cut with the chainsaw he was such a trooper and had already stopped crying by the time I got him in the van...DH was still freaking out so it was a good thing I left him home with all the other kiddos because he would have been useless in the ER!!
Then DD cut the bottom of her big toe on my material cutting blade and it would not stop bleeding!! She carried on and on until she finally fell asleep and then fussed about it for days until I let her change her own bandage a 100 times a day then it was all good! We just super glued her cut back up!

My son gave our last bandaid to Grandma, who broke her wrist 2 days before xmas, and then hurt himself after she left and of course, no bandaids in the house. You would have thought I had committed a crime! No scooby doo bandaids...everything has to be "just so", he is so like his daddy! Well, maybe a little like me too...:p

Mama always likes things her way, right?

Hmmmm....now how do we make homemade reusable bandaids????

It is not like my DD actually puts bandaids on real booboos anyways!! When she was going through the toe covering bandage stage she was putting them on her knees arms and forehead! I let her wear the one on her forehead to Tae Kwon Do and everyone noticed it right away! But we had seen it on her face all day and had we all had pretty much ignored!

Reusable band-aids for fingers....reusable cable ties made of velcro could be used to secure a cloth pad from cut up t-shirts or old sheets/pillow cases~or 2x2 gauze pads. They can be cut to bandaid size and washed over and over. And they are cheap and come in bright colors! :D Voila!

For flat surfaces, its cheaper to purchase a roll of medical tape and a box of 2X2 gauze. Goes farther than bandaids and sticks better. Just get the cloth-type tapes instead of the paper tapes.
