It's gonna be crazy but it'll be fun...that's what the holidays are about anyway, right? I hope it doesn't rain so that Tyler and Maddie can run outside and see the gator and playhouse christmas morning! I can't wait to see their little faces light up!
Merry Christmas, LHA! Hope your weather cooperated!!!

Merry Christmas everybody! Went to bed last night with rain but woke up this morning to sunshine and temps in the 60s!!! Good gator driving weather! Tyler and Maddie loved their presents...their favorites were the board games...hungry hungry hippo, rhino rampage, flipping frogs, and elefun! It's always something simple, isn't it. He did very well with the gator and maddie liked her playhouse. They're napping now and the family is just resting from all the excitement. All in all it's been a good time! Hope everyone has had a good one too!

Well, had a good couple of days...pretty uneventful. We have just been hanging out here at the house and eating leftovers...my granny doesn't know how to cook for a few people. She always makes waaaaaay too much food but my dogs and chickens are LOVING her right now....lots of scraps! We have been getting 3-4 eggs everyday too! I am pretty happy with that considering we only have 6 hens. Granny cooked some this morning for breakfast and everybody loved them.

Tyler has been driving his gator like a pro! Hates first gear though, way too slow! I am in so much trouble when he gets older! Lead foot like his mama!!!

Maddie has played with her playhouse and is playing "drive thru window". She opens the shutters and says "order please" and then goes around to the front door and hands you your imaginary nuggets. We also got a little tykes picnic table from my neighbor for free today! Her kids have outgrown it and it is the perfect size for my two...it was warm enough today that they had a picnic, tea party outside for lunch!

Chad had a guided hunt this morning...5 clients, they saw about 200 geese and killed about a dozen. Everyone had a good time. $150 per client...not a bad morning.

He goes to Oklahoma for a week Jan 1 or 2. I can play on the computer a lot then!!! If he doesn't take the laptop with him...aaaaaaahhhh....withdrawals!

Hopefully I can get some cleaning done this week and get some toys out. My mom wants to take some back to her house for the kids to play with...fine by me!

Well, I'm glad everyone has had a good holiday and I'll talk to you all again soon!

How lucky! I love those little tykes picnic tables! Our dd has always kept one in their kitchen. The kids eat breakfast there. They are also allowed to keep their snacks on it during the day, so they don't keep opening up the fridge. They snack on grapes, carrots, apples, oranges... that kind of stuff. And if it spills (they are 10 1/2 and 7 ... and 6 months - so he isn't using it yet), it is on the kitchen vinyl floor, not the carpet under the dining table.

I love that "drive thru window" ! :gig

Well, today everyone left and it nearly killed the kids...Maddie climbed into Granny and Papa's truck and I had to drag her out so they could leave. Then once I got her calmed down Tyler started crying and saying how he didn't want Grandma and Grandpa to leave. It nearly killed Granny, when she got home she called and said that if it happened again that she was just hijacking the carseat and taking her for a week.

They all live 2 1/2 hrs away so it is tough when either we leave them or they leave us cause we always go for at least a weekend and they let the kids sleep with them and stuff. Hard on us when we get home.

Went shopping after they left. Both kids got $50 gift cards for xmas from my brother so we took them to Toys R Us and Maddie got a stroller for her baby dolls and a bag of animal crackers and Tyler got a set of sharks and a diver. Both of them still have $36 left on their cards so we get to go shopping again.

After that we went to the nursing home to visit Chad's grandma, Nanny. She has alzheimers so she can't remember us sometimes. My parents and grandparents always get her presents. This year we made her a photo album that had captions for all the pictures so she would know who everyone was and what was happening in all the pictures.

By the time we got home we were all done so we put the kids in the bath and soon will go to bed. I get to clean up tomorrow and might take the tree down cause we just don't have room in here for anything. This week I get to go through all the old toys and pick out ones to go to grandmas and ones to sell.

Got to do laundry tomorrow too...sheets and towels from everybody staying here all week...it's all starting to pile up.

It sounds like you had a good visit and I am sure the kiddos are enjoying their new toys!! Yep, grandparents just love to spoil the kiddos and let them get away with stuff we would never let them get away with!!

I wish I was only 2 1/2 hours from my grandkids. Ours are more like 3 days away. :(
