Lori you call your doctor and get a referral to another Dr.

you need an Endo specialist of something like that and your current Dr. will get you a referral. It is time to take this to the next level of Dr. for help....a GP type dr. can not help you the way you need it, you must get to the next level of dr, the specialist.

make that call Lori and move forward and get yourself on the better end of health. it could be so many things Lori all working against you and with you having little kids, it is time to grab this sucker by the horns, run face forward into it and get to that next Dr. Gal you need to be better ya know! I know you can find who you need Lori.

hang in there!

I fully agree. List of things to be very specific about.
Gluten allergy, Anemia, and Adrenal fatigue ( usually medically diagnosed as Fibro, though it is fully reversable)

MD - Menieres Disease = vertigo, balance issues etc (inner ear)

I sure hope you'll take FCs advice and contact a different doctor. I think your symptoms are a little more than what folks on the 'Net can diagnose.

MD can also stand for Muscular Distrophy. Initials, sigh!
No suggestions here. I can't imagine the frustration.

Yep, in this case, it's Meniere's Disease. Not fun at all, and I hope that's not what you have. What you're describing is about how I started, vertigo, feeling like my head was going to float away, etc.

For me it turned out to be hypoglycimea and who knows what else. I'm still working on trying to figure it all out.

Do you have someone close to you both physically and as a friend who could be your ally? Someone who could go with you to your doctor's apt and act like your "mommy". ie be your voice?

I find that it helps to have things written down, even a calender, where I have listed my ymptoms, even if it is incomplete.

I am not very good about being my own advocate, but when I got my ducks in a row, I got better results from the doctors.

None of us deserve to live like this... It sucks that we have to fight so hard to be heard.

lots of hugs to you :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

and if my magic wands could fix it, it would be done :love

If it is hypoglycemia, you're going to need to be sure you eat more carbs and protein. I also have that, and was given the wrong info by doctor I talked to about it. He told me to just eat a chocolate bar. Result being, I ate a TON of chocolate bars-sometimes 6 or more in a day. Then when chocolate got really expensive, I cut way back to the point that some days I don't eat any! And, I have less problems now.

There are special diets for hypoglycemics, but I've never followed any of them. And, the last doctor I went to for it was an idiot. Instead, I just try and be careful w/what I eat.

It also made it difficult for me to realize I had another problem-my Meniere's-since some of the symptoms are the same.

I got a phone call from my BF last night and told her that I had gone off my meds and was seriously considering going GF and she says "are you sure you want to do that, that diet sucks"

Really? If I had a peanut allergy that made my throat swell up every time I came near a peanut would she say the same thing? How is it any different?

Chad is worried about me and he wants me to go to the doctor and get tested for celiacs which means I need to go back to eating gluten for a few weeks so it will register. This sucks.

I may make a doctor appt with my GP and see if she can recommend a specialist to figure out why I have felt like crap for the last 10 years. When I really sit down and think about it it has been at least 10 years that I have dealt with constipation issues (my maternal grandmother is HORRIBLY constipated all the time) and with the recent diagnosis of celiacs for my paternal grandmother and my fathers symptoms I am really leaning toward all this being connected to celiacs/gluten sensitivity.

Today I am working on our annual xmas gift to the grandparents....our year in pictures. I have to sift through a year of pictures and copy all of them onto 6 sd memory cards for the digital photo frames we got everyone a few years ago.

Like it has been suggested before, write down a list of everything you can think of, and get Chad to help, -of things you have been dealing with. No matter how little or inconsequential you might think they seem.

And do your own research also. so you can go into your appt informed, and possibly suggest things the doc might not think to look at. You have to realize that the doctors are not living your life, so they are not going to spend hours and hours researching your issues. After your 10 minutes are up, they are on to the next patient and have basically forgotten about you--not saying this as derogatorily, it is just a fact of their job. If you can help them out, that would be better for you.

There is a movement toward GF, so some people with *ASSume* that you are just jumping on the bandwagon.
It is not a hard diet and does not suck at all, it is just a matter of trade offs, lunch meat and cheese inside lettuce instead of bread, big deal. GF pasta instead of regular, big deal. Homemade GF (or commercial frozen) waffles or pancakes instead of wheat based, big deal.homemade baked goods without gluten, big deal. I am simplifying it of course, but it truly is not hard once you get a feel for it. You do have to learn how to read labels.

The hard part is eating out.

:hugs. You will sort it out!
