Lori, it actually takes a full year for gluten to completly clear the body. Since you have only been off it a very short time, plus have eaten it here and there, I would think you only need a few days of eating bread to get a good test.

Also, as to your friends response, experience has shown many that food allergies are so seemingly invisible, that many truely believe its all in our heads.
Just because its not anaphylctic, does not mean its fake, thats for sure, lol!

Even eating out is fairly easy if you just remember that ... steak and baked potato with REAL butter only is a gluten free meal! :ya

Actually more and more restaurants are offering Gluten free menus. Fast food is almost impossible, but in the long run is that such a bad thing? :)

:sick Yeah, I cannot eat McDonalds, Burger King, Sonic, blech. I can stomach Wendys on occasion and I love Chick-fil-a cause their chicken actually looks and feels like chicken. Chicken nuggets are actual pieces of real chicken and my kids scarf them down like they are candy in comparison to "formed chicken-ish patties and nuggets" :sick

Today I have let my children paint.....a lot... :D

I have been collecting clean chicken feathers from the chicken run for a week now and my 3 yr old was fascinated at what happened when she painted with them. Then I let her paint layers of paint and scratch through it with the hard end and she was ecstatic!

I checked out some modern art books from the library and made sure to get some that had good artist descriptions and pictures in them. My 3 yr old really liked Piet Mondrian and Jackson Pollack. She also liked Claude Monet...which surprised me. She says "mommy, I like to get messy when I paint....Tyler doesn't like to get messy but I DO!!!"

I'm kicking myself cause I just went out with a 2 1/2 gallon bucket of feed for the meat birds and tripped over the electric fence and spilled half of it on the ground. I stood out there as long as I could stand it and let some of the birds out that could waddle their fat arses out of the tractor to try to clean some of it up. :barnie I was going to go hunting this evening but hubby just called and said his clients (goose hunt) wanted to stay and hunt all day. That and one of his partners got bored while waiting for the next batch of birds to come through and shot a deer in the field where they were hunting and now we have some meat from that. :celebrate

I know, right! Hubby couldn't believe the dumb doe just stood there while his partner crept up to it and BLAM. He called me and you could hear all his clients laughing in the background.

When my son was little (like 5?), we woke up to a white Thanksgiving. He looked out the window and said, it's Christmas! Kids are so cute at that age.
