A big relief, I'm sure..... When we sold our home last year, we sold it for 300K less than what it would have sold for just two years prior. So, percentage wise, its the same as yours. We are all lucky to be able to sell a house rather than losing it completely.

Busy busy busy this past weekend....

Went to Bass Pro Shops and saw Santa, went to a local outdoor mall and went ice skating (first time for the kids), had the children's Kidzpraise (the kids' music class) concert at church Sunday, then went next door to cousin's house to do gingerbread houses and eat lunch...got a few stares when I made lettuce wraps for myself and then explained about the celiacs stuff and it was okay, then worked on MIL's quilt for 5 hours.

It is pretty much done....I haven't decided if I'm going to quilt it anymore....probably not. I SUCK at machine quilting....the back is all puckered and wrinkly. I have to do a signature patch to cover a hole in the back where I went to trim a thread and nicked the back. :barnie

The kids worked on their present for their uncle, an original "masterpiece", using oil on canvas. Tyler got fed up halfway through and has to finish his tonight but Maddie's is done....abstract, messy, and totally her.

This morning I looked up recipes while the kids were outside playing in the snow. I found a recipe for beets that I want to try, baked up some kale chips tossed in olive oil and a little garlic powder and sea salt, and made a huge pot of chicken veggie soup with lots of veggies and a cup of pumpkin butter and two handfuls of fresh kale and a 15 bean blend. It is GOOD!

I also found a recipe for ribeye steaks with balsamic mushroom sauce that I want to try with a deer tenderloin instead of the steaks. :drool

Hubby made dinner last night and all he could come up with GF was a boiled hot dog, frozen broccoli, and a salad. :/ Oh well, at least he tried.

Your hubby gets an A+ for effort from me.
The gluten free thing is very hard to grasp for many people. It just takes time.
When I get the black look and the question of "well, what do you eat then"?, I smile as sweetly as I can, and tell them everything except standard wheat bread products.
If they need more info, especially if they are feeding me, then I expound on the 5 grains I have to avoid.

I have yet to make Kale chips. If I can find room to grow Kale next summer, I may just try it though.

I think a balsamic mushroom sauce would make anything taste wonderful. Probably even cardboard. :p

A+ for dh effort.

Every day is one step closer. Today I took BBH's advice and picked up some of the Brags Amino Acid's, in place of soy sauce. It surely not soy free but gluten free.

We only use soy every once in a while so I figure it will be ok.

Okay....heres a little tip for you....take off your license plate and put a spare key on the screw. Screw the license plate back on over the key and voila, no more locking yourself out of the car!

My hubby just called me and said to come get him.

"Why?"

"The car is running and my keys are locked in it."

"Oh, no problem, take off the license plate."

"Take off the license plate?"

"Just go do it and call me back."

"I love you...."

Yep, that's right.

Actually he said "I love Papa" it was his idea but I'm the one who put the dang key there so I take full credit!!! :D
