Hey, today they are talking about bees on Sesame Street!!! It's pretty cool, the kids are enthralled!

We are going to see Walking with Dinosaurs at the Roanoke Civic Center this weekend courtesy of my mom! I went online and took a look at it and it seems pretty cool. The largest dinosaur is 72ft long! They are animatronic and actually walk around the arena floor with you! I think they have 15 different ones and they even have a baby t-rex. I think I'm more excited than the kids!

Tonight we go eat dinner (my chicken vegetable soup from yesterday) at FIL's house. :fl hopefully we'll have to sign papers for the land but I'm not getting my hopes up. He is such a procrastinator.

Now my children are flying around the house pretending to pollinate flowers  Tyler has a bucket on his head and keeps saying "don't mess with me while I pollinate or I'll sting you" They are so goofy! Gotta love Sesame Street!!!

Thursday.....frustrated, pissy, aggrivated, angry, let's see what else can I be today. Chad's dad called and canceled on us AGAIN. :somad He said that he had a new patient that was getting released from the hospital and he had to get her settled in and her family was all going to be there to help her adjust. I understand that he takes care of a house full of elderly folks by himself but COME ON ALREADY!!! He has been putting us off for 3 years now. S*** or get off the pot already. :rant

Okay, now that that is out of the way, I have had a lovely morning playing legos with my son and trying not to kill my daughter. While I was searching for something in the lego box for Tyler, Maddie proceeded to disappear into the kitchen. She got way too quiet so I got up to check on her. She had dumped an entire bottle of dishwashing liquid in the sink and was trying to wash dishes. There was water and soap everywhere. :th When am I going to learn that quiet=trouble???

We improvised last night since I had so much soup and called my BF so she and her hubby and daughter came over for dinner and then we played each other on the wii. We had a good time. I still have some soup left to freeze for later and we are supposed to get snow after midnight tonight. Not much, though, I think we are only supposed to get an inch or so but the temps are supposed to dip down into the teens again. Fun stuff.

Hubby and I had a good talk last night about things that happened in my past that are still affecting me (part of the reason why we go to counseling). I think he kind of "gets it" now. I told him some stuff that he hadn't heard about that I just didn't want to rehash but it needed to be said in order for him to understand why I am the way I am about some things. Stuff I'm not proud of but I can't change it now.

Anyway, trying to relax today a little and made another loaf of bread cause I used a whole loaf last night for grilled cheeses to go with the soup. Got 2 loads of laundry to do and got some pork chops thawing out in the fridge for dinner with some fresh steamed green beans and roasted acorn squash, mmmmmmmmm yummy!

I'm really starting to think about this whole pig thing..........OFG, you are going to get me in sooooooo much trouble if I come home one day with a pig.

Any little kids; Quiet = Trouble!!!
Don't you just love legos!? I still have mine and kept all the ones I bought for DD, then I also kept the ones that stepson got. I now have a big plastic bin filled with them.
I occasionally bring them out, when we have kid company. It is such fun!
Actually a lot of the kids I know are way too much into computer games or tv. I won't have the tv babysit the kids at my house and we put away the computer games. It takes them a while to figure out what to do, but then they don't want to go home, because they are having so much fun playing with the things I have provided.

My kids love legos! :love They always have them scattered about. It is so great for their imagination! It is so awesome what they can think up to build,...I try to keep mine (kids) out of the TV or video games as much as possible,...right now they both are in the livingroom drawing pictures. I bet you couldn't put the paper my son has used in drawing in the back of a semi-trailer! Thanks to all that practice he is becoming quite an accomplished artist. :thumbsup

Friday

Today I went out to do my morning chores and found a chicken egg in the duck house. Silly birds. I wondered why I didn't get any yesterday, I just didn't look hard enough :p

We got a dusting of snow last night but it was enough to make the kids want to go out and play in it so I bundled them up and sent them in the back yard to play where I could see them. While they were outside I *gasp* made them homemade play dough. I didn't mind it actually. I balanced the checkbook and paid the bills while they played and it wasn't so bad. Right now they are eating popcorn and watching Garfield.

Last night we all watched Evan Almighty. I love that movie. Tonight we are going to visit some friends and probably out to dinner. We will probably stop for pizza. We played legos again and this time we were pirates and race car drivers. I also introduced my children to the wonderful world of paper fans and airplanes. Fun stuff!

Well, we decided to stay home this weekend and we are planting ourselves on my FIL's doorstep Sunday. At least we'll have a yes or no answer before we leave. I have enough soup left to take it to his house for dinner but I'll have to make another loaf of bread tomorrow morning.

I was going to put some snow pics on here today but hubby took the camera with him hunting today so it will have to wait. Last night we got online and found questions from the newlywed game and took turns answering them. It was really fun and we know each other pretty well, I have to say. I used to love that show.

Today we are just taking it easy. We'll probably get up tomorrow morning and clean the house before we head over to FIL's.

Our friend gave us a Randall Burkey catalog last night.....man, not a good idea. I want so many different breeds. We were thinking of sticking with the light brahmas but the more I think about it the more I want to look out my window and see all different breeds. I don't care about breeding them so much, right now we just want eggs. I want some more light brahmas and I am thinking of getting some more barred rocks, speckled sussex, golden laced wyandottes, and I would still like some crested polish or silkies. Definitely need a bigger coop. I wouldn't mind having some guineas patrolling the property either. I'm in so much trouble.....Chad says he definitely wants to do more broilers too....we're addicted.

I can't wait to get my goats. I'm nervous about it but excited too. I just can't wait to snuggle up to them every day.....nigerian dwarfs are my favorite. So much personality! I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I need to get for them. Depends on where we'll live. I already have mineral buckets and I need to get some waterers. I like those rubber type bowls at TSC. That's what I have for my ducks and they empty real easy when they freeze. I'm still trying to get a list together.

I got two more seed catalogs yesterday and I am eyeing some of the fruit trees but we'll have to see what happens with the property first. I want blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and some apple trees and maybe a pear tree or two. I would love some almond trees and some pecans but there is a farm down the road from us where we can get pecans so I may not go with the nut trees.

Still trying to decide what to put in the garden this year. Definitely going to do more lettuce varieties, cukes, tomatoes, peppers, carrots (we're still feeding the crickets and the rabbits with our harvest from this summer), green beans, pumpkins, mint, basil, oregano, thyme, maybe some stevia. I'm toying with zucchini, squash, gourds, swiss chard, spinach, brussel sprouts, broccoli, and kale. I have to find a cookbook though for all these veggies.

Since I can only have a few backyard hens at a time I try to get a variety of interesting breeds when I buy my replacements. This last round I had Ameraucana, (blue-green egg) Red Star (big brown egg), Salmon Faverolle (tinted egg) and cuckoo Maran (chocolate egg). I like looking out at the different beauties as well!

It is replacement time again this year. I know for sure I am getting a Black Star (I always get one production type bird) and another Ameraucana but the rest I just don't know. Those catalogs are SO enticing!!

WE GOT THE LAND!!!!!

It wasn't what we hoped for (10 acres) because FIL has borrowed money and used the land for collateral so we have to leave him enough to cover his loans. BIL has 10 acres of it and I think for now we will have 5. The plan is that when FIL sells his beach house and house he is currently living in that is also the old folks home, then he is going to pay off all the loans and split the 40 acres right down the middle between BIL and us!!! 20 acres and a pond!!! Lots of pasture but very little in the way of woods. BIL already claimed the back half of the land which is mostly wooded and has the access to the bigger pond but we really wanted the smaller front pond and spring and the pasture anyway so it works out. So this week I am headed to granny's house to get everything straight with the mover and the doublewide and Chad is going to get all the permits and perk test, well, septic, and survey taken care of this week. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Gonna call our realitor today and get everything set to put our current house on the market. Hopefully we can clear $40000-50000 when it is sold and put up a garage and small barn and fencing on the property. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. We lit a fire under FIL's butt last night and told him that the doublewide has to be moved in the next 2-3 weeks so we have to get this done yesterday. :weee I'm gonna be a farmer!!!
