Lori, honey, if this is where you are supposed to be, God will provide a way....I'm sure of it! :)

I'm getting excited FOR you....how wonderful to have an adventure! And I'm wondering where you will keep the alligator..... :D

From what I understand, the barn is one of the most important things on a farm. I would have to agree, so I can imagine how hard this is for you to decide on a design.

Hey, I had a fella offer to give me his bummer lambs from his Katahdins this year in April, if he has any. Interested? I only live right across the border of Highland County VA...... :) Be a great way to build a nice little herd of hair sheeples!

Ducks are ridiculous creatures.....we are supposed to get freezing temps and snow for the next 2 days so I emptied out the duck pool.....there is about 1/4 inch of water left in it and they entire flock is in there trying to swim in that 1/4 inch. They are so silly......all I can see are 10 duck heads bobbing up and down inside the baby pool......I would go put some more water in it but it's just gonna freeze again..... It took a month to thaw from the last time it froze.

couldn't help myself, I went out and put about 4 inches of water in the dang baby pool so the ducks could splash around......they were very happy with me :D Now, if they would only start laying eggs........

What driveway? You don't need no stinkin' driveway... LOL...
:yuckyuck

I roughed it for the first 2 years I was here, even got chains for the forklift to go up and down in the mud, still it got stuck a few times.

Then I did get it black topped year before last because of the wear/tear on the forklift. LOL.... Before I had the forklift I used a four point lift system for the front end loader on my tractor.

I think 40k is still pretty good on your end of it, I'd guess if your going to the bank for the money than your payments won't be to bad until you guys get the house sold. Hmmmmm.... Those double payments make me nervous.....

The double payments make me nervous too....we are hoping that we can borrow $10000 from granny so that we can have mortgage payments for a year in the bank. She has it and I just need to talk to her about it this weekend. I'm going to go down there today (right into the impending snow storm....ugh) to go get Maddie. Chad will stay here in case the weather is too bad for us to come back Sunday and so the animals will not need a sitter in the 6-10 inches they are calling for here tomorrow. I have to pack some warmer clothes for Maddie and a heavier coat and boots that what I left her at granny's with. The temps dropped about 25 degrees last night and it is just plain cold out there today. Only supposed to be in the low 20s tomorrow and snowing all dang day.

So, I'm just checkin in before heading off for the weekend. Granny's birthday is Monday and my other granny's birthday is tuesday so it will be a busy week. I am hoping we can get the deed signed and go to the bank next week to see about a loan. We'll see what happens.....something tells me this ain't gonna be easy. :barnie

Lord have mercy, it is good to be home! I got snowed in at granny's for a week and a half. Whew. Finally got to come home today before it snows another 4 inches tomorrow. We lost power at her house for 2 days but we were fine. We had lots of trees down all over the place.

Needless to say, the survey on the property hasn't gotten done due to the snow so we shall see what happens this week, although it doesn't look good. Supposed to get around 4 inches tomorrow and possibly more weather later on in the week from what I hear. My poor husband has missed us something terrible! We've missed him too....I've been sleeping on an air mattress for a week and a half, albeit a very nice one, but it's nothing like sleeping in your own bed (with your hubby *wink wink*)

The kids are glad to be home too, they get bored at granny's cause there's not much to do since we packed up most of the furniture and all their toys.

It's gonna take me a week just to catch up on what everyone's been doing while I've been gone.....granny doesn't have a computer....I was in withdrawal.....

They also like to eat out and I have eaten more fast food that I care to admit lately. I'm ready to bake a loaf of bread and cook a good nutritious meal with vegetables.

Well, off to see what I missed this week! Glad to be back!
