I'm too far away to be of much help, but I'll send good thoughts your way!
There ARE young kids who read the boards, but....where are the parents while this is going on? That's my opinion. If a child is too young to comprehend that "sex" and "breeding" is the SAME THING....they shouldn't be left on the board unattended, and mommy or daddy should be censoring. In other words, sounds like they want YOU to babysit for them...no thank you If the title is appropriate, and it isn't a mod asking for it to be changed, I just don't know that I would seriously worry about it Did the person ask nicely? That would be taken into consideration as well. Being on a public forum, we all DO have the responsibilty to make sure we aren't being offensive, especially in the presence of children. They are our future and all, but lazy parents looking for an excuse to make another adult mind according to their standards...eh, I don't think so.MyKidLuvsGreenEgz said:Can't believe this. I just got a PM on a (related) site from someone who wants me to change a title of a thread I started that has the word "sex" in it ... I was asking for help with very young siblings and whether I should be worried. You get the picture. Her grief was ... because her children read the boards, and they are a little young to equate "breeding" with "sex".
One thing you should probably know about me is that I really really really don't like to be told what to do. But besides that, if the child is old enough to read the title, should the child also be old enough for a basics lesson in sex? It was posted in the appropriate "breeding" section of the forum, and the whole thing was appropriate.
I'll follow rules for the most part. I just re-read the rules for that forum and it doesn't say using the word "sex" in a title is inappropriate. It just says to avoid "adult" subjects. I don't consider asking whether a set of very young twins should be separated because one is mounting the other ... as inappropriate and "adult". How else am I going to learn?
Thoughts? Opinions?
