Thank you. Appreciate it.

Thought I'd post a pic of Weslee's puppy-to-be, Krypto.

Can't believe this. I just got a PM on a (related) site from someone who wants me to change a title of a thread I started that has the word "sex" in it ... I was asking for help with very young siblings and whether I should be worried. You get the picture. Her grief was ... because her children read the boards, and they are a little young to equate "breeding" with "sex".

One thing you should probably know about me is that I really really really don't like to be told what to do. But besides that, if the child is old enough to read the title, should the child also be old enough for a basics lesson in sex? It was posted in the appropriate "breeding" section of the forum, and the whole thing was appropriate.

I'll follow rules for the most part. I just re-read the rules for that forum and it doesn't say using the word "sex" in a title is inappropriate. It just says to avoid "adult" subjects. I don't consider asking whether a set of very young twins should be separated because one is mounting the other ... as inappropriate and "adult". How else am I going to learn?

Thoughts? Opinions?

There ARE young kids who read the boards, but....where are the parents while this is going on? That's my opinion. If a child is too young to comprehend that "sex" and "breeding" is the SAME THING....they shouldn't be left on the board unattended, and mommy or daddy should be censoring. In other words, sounds like they want YOU to babysit for them...no thank you ;) If the title is appropriate, and it isn't a mod asking for it to be changed, I just don't know that I would seriously worry about it :hu Did the person ask nicely? That would be taken into consideration as well. Being on a public forum, we all DO have the responsibilty to make sure we aren't being offensive, especially in the presence of children. They are our future and all, but lazy parents looking for an excuse to make another adult mind according to their standards...eh, I don't think so.

ETA: Cute pup and congrats!!! :D

Ditto to that! Cindy said it much better (and nicer) than I would have. And the word sex is all around us. Wonder if those parents have ever let their child(ren) watch or hear about the TV show, Sex and the City?

I saw the thread. It didn't look like anyone else had a problem with it. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks all.

The PMer did ask fairly nicely but it really did seem like she was asking me to do her parenting. No clue how old her kids are, but like I said, if they were old enough to read, they're old enough to have heard the basics of sex from somewhere! It's not like I posted any pictures!

Rebecca, I appreciate that you'd actually seen the thread and knew what I was talking about. The PM hit me out of the blue.

Everyone: thanks for the support. And the puppy-cuteness comments.

Well, people on another related site talk about chicken sex all the time. And those chickens are having lots of chicken sex, and they talk about how those roosters are cockadoodledoing about their chicken sex all over the barnyard.

And i've even seen "what sex is this chicken" so sex can also be in relationship to gender.

So do you think I used the word sex enough in this post and is anyone offended yet?? :D

We also have a joke on these forums:

which animals are the sexiest farm animals?

Brown Chicken Brown Cow.......

LOVE that joke! :gig
