Well, Happy B'Day to your DH! I did hear that it was the 5 year Sandy anniversary yesterday... really hope ya don't get any more than some wind/rain from this one. Maybe ya'll can get that pig cut up and have power while you're doing it!

That would be great, but we might not do too much because DH is a little burnt out from working nonstop so he might take some time to do... Nothing. Lol. I have a hard time accepting that but it's his birthday so I'll keep my objections to myself!

There goes the power. Major wind, big thud out there just now too. DH is headed out to start the dang generator.

DH saw a transformer blow on the line down by the road. I'm having trouble falling asleep now, the wind is intense. Glad DD is a heavy sleeper!

Hope everything's o.k. by you and the power will come back on quickly, if it hasn't already. Good thing you have a generator!

Happy birthday to your DH.

Thanks sumi. It won't be back on soon though. It's now the 5th worst storm related power outage in state history. My power company has 37,000 homes without power and the state has 240,000. That's a lot for a little state! No estimated restoration time yet.

I'm afraid to look outside when it gets light out. Wind has died down but it was bad!

The power company is saying to expect a multiple day outage. They've lost several substations and there are hundreds of trees down across their territory. Two of their trucks were hit by falling trees last night.

One of our chicken pens is lightweight and not secured well enough for this kind of storm. I'm nervous to see if it made it.

At least the wind stopped. The rain is expected to stop by afternoon. Sigh.

Holy Cow! Had no idea you were going to get that much effect! So glad you have a generator! What's the temp?

It's not bad now, 55 ish. Tonight will be 36. We have to run the generator all day for the fridge and freezers, and all night for heat if it's still off. Fun fun.

Up to 270,000 statewide without power now.

Animals are all fine!
