Oddly enough, I still want pigs...
so do we -- just not THESE! our 4H neighbor mom said that sometimes you get pigs that are just no darn good, they are bad seeds...

There must be some sort of conspiracy or mind reading going on, because a friend just sent me a link to this book. The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig .
The wolf siblings, amply warned about the big bad pig, construct their first house of sturdy brick, a medium which resists the pig's huffing and puffing but is no match for his sledgehammer. Their abodes become progressively more fortress-like, and the pig's implements of destruction, correspondingly, grow heftier, until the wolves try another tack and weave a house of flowers.

It has taken me a couple of days, but I have just finished reading every post in this journal. I feel like Siskel and Ebert "I laughed, I cried....."

I had a friend who brought over her 7yr old daughter to see my chickens and old (28yr old) horse. By the time I ran them off I think the chickens were going into a stress induced molt (and they are only a couple of months old!) and old Skye had a gleam in her eye I haven' seen for many many moons. So I dont' even have a "real" farm, but there won't be any ankle-biting rugrats coming over to my place either! :D

golly, AL, thanks for reading! if i had a prize i'd give it to ya!

yeah.. we get enough silliness from ADULT city slickers... the kids are something else.

but ya gotta love farm kids, thats for sure. i know a couple real good ones that are just the apples of my eye!

well, after chores we went down and enjoyed watchin' them pigs... run into the now-fortified-electric fence over... and over.. and over... oh gosh that just never gets old.

pigs. harumph!

BBH, don't ever lose that picture. It looks like it came straight out of a children's book. I know you didn't pose them, but it sure looks like it. They are so listening to your daughter reading them a story. :love

VICTORY!

at least for now.. them pigs are still in. they are mad, of course, but tough too bads for them!

goats are finally eating, but Vita didnt hardly milk at all yesterday or this morning.

we had a funny thing this morning. i boiled up all the eggs on the counter for the pigs, fried the eggs i got out of the barn for the dogs, then went to make our breakfast and...

NO EGGS!

and none of them ladies out there had anything to show me when i went out TWICE!

so i had a vegan-ish breakfast and aint nobody happy about that. but i did have a lovely fried corn pudding and veggie scramble. didnt have time to go and find a big slab of bacon to put on it...sigh... i'll be hungry in about 20 mins for sure.

happy friday everyone!
:)
