thanks everybody.. i think i'm worked off most of my grumpiness. we had one last (??) hot fall day... so now i'm exhausted and grateful for all the critters we have.
it felt like progress but i dont have a lot to show for the day - the garden clean up continues. i got some perennials moved around, swept up the leaves, etc.
but now i cant think of one thing to have for dinner so i'd better get cracking on that.. or it will be oatmeal for everyone.
Aww, poor Pebbles....why is it NEVER the roosters? I've only lost good hens and promising pullets. I think those moronic roosters shove the nearest hen into the path of the predators. Harrumph.
Have some med'cine and something sweet and chocolate. Pudding for supper!
yeah,.,,,,bourbon. used to be a time in my life when I thought nothing of throwing down good money, a lot of it, on good bourbon. dont know why reading OFG's journal's got me to thinking about that good bourbon. and no, it isn't you, Red Bourbon, but sounds like you could be a person partial now and then to a fine, mighty fine bourbon.
geesh. if I were to go looking for the good stuff, I can for sure tell you it won't be in the liquor store here.
best I don't go looking in the city either, although thats where it would be at.
hmmm. I'm gonna tell you, the neighbor's plum wine just ain't gonna do the trick either!
well, i've been known to drive people to drink before.. sometimes to drinking bourbon..and sometimes i've driven Bourbon Red to drink!
whooot!
i have to say - i'm totally pie drunk. i had such a big piece of pie today that i'm not gonna need to eat until at least friday. probably not until saturday if i think about it.
so in the good news, bad news, good news department....
good news: i think i'm done sulking - we had a lot of "misses" and not "hits" over the last couple days... so i think i earned a couple days of being off kilter
bad news: the good neighbors said they found another one of our hens, dead, on sunday.. we couldnt figure out who it was by doing a beak check - one of the unnamed rabble but still a loss. she was way over on their side. i dont know if she was chased or drug over there but the dog killed her for sure.
good news: back to this huge piece of pie...
we took Vita back to the breeder today. he was thrilled to see her...AND he said that we could take Debbie there to be bred to one of his fancy prize winning bucks! and here is the best part.. for those of you who saw that breeding thread over on the herds site.. you know the one... our breeder is only gonna charge me $25! ha! i'm tempted to tell a certain someone that they couldnt stand in the pasture with our breeder's worst goat. not even for $25 but i wont. but if any of all y'all wanna do it....
;-)
anyway.
and then we stopped and ate Vita's weight in broasted chicken from my favorite family owned dive. and then they gave us pie. it was heavenly. a huge piece of pie. i had chocolate cream - the big man had peanut butter. now i need my fat pants.
so
here is a funny thing.. you know how i make up words and basically abuse the english language at every turn? well, aint this just hilarious:
