The vegans are cringing as we type, I suspect.

I think everyone would be amazed to know what is in the items we use everyday. I wonder how much soy is in a lot of those products?

OFG funny you should say that. I went to Meyer's Hatchery to pick up my chicken feed.
Charlotte (who was taking care of customers) says, "who has a buck?"
I say, "Do you mean a dollar?"
Charlotte says, "no, who has a buck, a goat?"
I say, "I do."
Charlotte says, "I can smell you."

This is with a bunch of people in the store. I was a little embarrassed but I had just finished cleaning the boys pen and then just got into the truck to pick up chicken feed. I had to laugh though since she actually knew what the smell was. I told DH that now i have to shower before going to the feed store!

Karen: duing my normal 2 - 3 hours of awake time in the middle of the night, I thought about you and the baby that died. So sad. But I've never heard of the word "cria". Gonna go look it up now...

p.s. I can smell the smoker at the slaughter house firing up! America usually has west to east wind patterns, but today, I think that Ohio is sending some really delicious smoke out our way....

Cria is what we call camelid babies. So llama and alpaca babies are crias. By the way, Sunday I had a birth and it went without a hitch. So we have a healthy cria running around. I am kind of used to dealing with death because I birth quite a few alpacas and I see more death than a lot of people but for some reason I was bothered more than usual with this death. But this new little guy helps make it all better and seeing that new life is wonderful.
