Hey OFG - last night I saw a show on the Travel channel that featured 'Bacon Paradises' The part I watched had a bar called Bad Decisions where they have a 'bacon happy hour' where people walk around with large buckets of free crispy bacon. Then the drinks and the featured dishes all have bacon. Thought you might wanna find that place for your future travels. I didn't catch what city it's in, sorry

We got about 3 inches of snow so it wasn't bad. Don't even have to plow the driveway. Already shoveled the cement areas. They are predicting another T-3 inches tonight. It is cold though.

Last night I made a chocolate sour cream cake (recipe I got on this site) so we are good on the cake here.

Now I'm off to do chores. We have a lot of errands to run this evening so I have to get chores done and shower.

I am craving cake, too, and it is your fault, OFG! It is not even close to "that time!" Must be the impending snow. My body wants another layer of insulating fat. I keep telling it that I have sweaters and long johns but it just ignores me and wants cake.

I just made arrangements to have my bucket of fat baconized! Chemical free! And I asked if they have any used knives to sell, and she said they did and will save any for me. My best knive came from this butcher, a boning knife that was sharpened down and got replaced by a new one. My dad has a great collection of wonderful knives that really hold a sharpening and he got them all second-hand from a butcher replacing his knives. One is German.

I may work towards doing my own smoking next year. We'll see how the year goes. It is gonna cost $1.75 per pound to make bacon and slice it and that is good incentive for a cheapskate....er, frugal person....like me.

I am craving carbs here too, for no good reason. You could be right about the snow!!
