We made it to the party and BACK!

Heh, OFG, that is a great picture of Ti on yer blog there.

The one of the pup in the new harness is cute too, but I like the picture where you featured him as the good dog. :thumbsup

Delightful! The baby had more fun with the wrappers than the gifts of course and made a total wreck of her party dress smearing cake all over herself. Hopefully I can post a pic!

Nice to see you here on OFG's porch. I don't think she is home tonight, lets check back in the morning!

so yesterday it was SO COLD....that we didnt even go to church. apparently we were in the one little pocket that was below 0 without the windchill. unfortunately our church is at least a 45 min drive one way... and the timing wasnt working out with the extra cold weather. and if we ended up walking for whatever reason it would have been bad. not to mention what would have happened if we were stuck over at the MIL's.....

(and i know that lala is probably laughing b/c she had -15* but for us this was pretty extreme)

so we did a couple rounds of feeding the critters and didnt even open the doors until mid day. when i went out to feed the goats they both were snuggled into the straw pretty deeply - which was very cute - but they had never not been up before so we knew the cold was getting to everyone.

lots of little feedings, tons of hay (not best quality), warm water, lots of snacks for the clucks, kept the little geese in, hay on the snow for the ducks so they could have somewhere to stand.. and a lot of snow-doggin around.

and we watched a lot of the Edwardian farm by the fire.

all in all a good day, low impact for the most part....but i did make a pretty darn good ciabatta bread to go with our cooked-all-day meat sauce.

thats the scoop here. we are at a balmy 14* this morning so i imagine i should go and find my shorts and flip flops. ha! just kidding.. now where are my snow pants....

happy monday!

Brr! That is cold! According to our weather forecast right now, it "feels like" 18* out, and that's cold enough! It was pretty dang hard busting the waterer today, even though I busted a big whole in it last night too!

We've got snow bad here, too. My chicks cannot stay in the coop but their run has plastic around 3 sides (of course the snow blew in the 4th side - go figure). I have plenty of straw down and threw some even up against the sides if they want to snuggle. They don't seem to mine. One of them jumped straight off the roost and went into the nest.
