I am now inspired to make my own kahlua! :D
It does taste better with aging, too, which doesn't really make sense to me....so make a big, big batch and hide a bottle or two from it.

Last summer I made my own limoncello. Suddenly I'm feeling like branching out. Must be the weather and the influence of friends??

Shamise is doing just fine. Doesn't look like she will birth today. I did notice another one of my girls that may be further along than I thought. I will have to give her a CDT and BoSe shot either today or tomorrow. So now I have 2 that I'm watching closely.

Hubby has been trying his hand at wine for a bit now that he has beer under his belt. He got a hygrometer for Christmas that should really help. That gizmo measures the specific gravity of a liquid (tells you how much sugar is present so you can figure how much to add. ;) ) Really easy.

Some people even use a five gallon bucket with a Gamma Seal lid and an airlock to brew in. I just gently stew the fruit in a kettle and then drain using a jelly bag to extract the juice - like you would do making jelly. Wine can make use of fruit that is too "over the top" for other uses.
