Indy has just graduated from being crated all day. He turned 2 in March! We keep the bedroom and bathroom doors shut. Every now and then we do something stupid. Like tonight I didn't realize DS hadn't emptied and put away his lunch box. We came from errands to find its insides shredded and strewn about the kitchen. If the floor weren't so nasty with mud I'd have taken a picture to share.

I am SOOOO lucky to have my Cassie dog on duty.

Sage was only crated when we left the house about the first two weeks we had him. No messes either. Cassie would KICK his hiney. :thumbsup

We never fed any puppy chow. Our vet recommends that large dog puppies be fed a high quality adult dog food, which we fed free choice, and supplement with Vitamin C. He says that slows them down and saves the joints which develop slower.

If 29 inches tall and 75 pounds at 8 months is slowed down, I would HATE to see sped up growth.

still nothing? ugh! thanks for the wet hand towel idea.

puppies! Glad you know how to deal with dogs. I get so annoyed at people who give up training by the teething stages.
thanks Abi. if anything we sure try hard. i think i told the story about how the family who gave us Lucky wanted him back - after i spent a year training him! no way. and then they gave us the "well, if we had more time we'd be able to train him like that."

um.. so why did you get him!!?!?! for heavens sakes.

today promises to be another puppy-ishious day. we are headed to TSC to find some balls so we can exhaust our little ball of furry fury

DL - you TOTALLY missed it! well we're doing ribs sometime this weekend so you'll have to get here early and we'll get you the best snacks and the best drinks! we never made it to the pond yesterday but today could be her lucky day!

SD - i cant wait for Fat Liver stories! hey if he was french could you call him "Foie Gras"??? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha oh golly. i've been saving that one up.

;-)

Three big dogs! Whew! I can barely get my poodles to behave! (Actually, they get compliments where ever we go and whenever someone new comes over....thanks to many episodes of The Dog Whisperer and many hours with a trainer when I was learning! I was mocked and laughed at a lot....mostly by the poodle). From your stories, it sounds like you are an amazing trainer.

Can I have Lucky? Or Kai in a year? :D No? But I'll give you an old, broken down goat who is guaranteed to eat weeds!

It is raining here so I have no choice but to clean my house. That is why I am online. :p

hey baby!

ha! you'll have to pry them out of my cold dead hands! hee hee hee we call Kai "Miss Wiggles" when she has the wiggles. its gonna be a wiggle-ific day. for sure. *turns and looks at her silly grin* oh golly we are in for it.

last nite during our storm she and Ti wrestled all over the floor (we went downstairs so Lucky wouldnt wet his pants). at one point their epic battle ended up at my feet, someone kicked both paws...and my computer when flying! luckily i got a hold of it but wow! and yeah. a big pile of dogs is something else. sometimes its a big STINKY pile of dogs!

glad you got an inside day!

we had a big rain earlier. but there's no rest for the wicked. it cleared up so i'm heading out to the salt mines. today i have a big case of the "time to make the donuts" and i'm dragging.

but hey. donuts would be good.....and that cake is gone.. hum....

:)

See ya for the party. :D I'll bring some coleslaw to go with.

I'll play with Kai for a while to help get her wiggles out too. I can't have big dogs in this apartment, so it would be fun.

we think we finally wore the wiggles right out of her. TWO big swims, three sessions of "chase older brothers while they are running." and one "go and sit on that porch and think about your naughty behavior."

she's so tired right now she is delirious. and so am i!

Dogs are certainly good exercise, aren't they?

I treat my dogs like my kids, if they want to play rowdy that is just fine with me as long as they are outside the house!
