like dust bunnies, leave them alone for 5 minutes and 1 tater becomes 100lbs of them...

if i had a storm shelter id be all set. its on my list, where the shed thats falling down is is a hill, id like to have a dozer come in and dig it so its level with the back feild and put in a concrete block storm shelter/root cellar and then cover the whole thing back up with dirt. but im sure that would cost a small fortune.
plan would be gravel floor concrete block walls with a vapor barrier inside would need ot be big enough to do a futon, a small desk, space for a couple of emergency pet crates (a crate for jack jack, a crate for each of the cats ect) mabe a couple of small twin sized wall mounted drop down beds (incase i need to shelter others) and then at least 10x5 root cellar...i figure if i did a 10x10 BACK and then the narrow root cellar at the front noone would realy know its acutlaly a storm/safety shelter too.
then id have room for at least a couple hundered lbs of taters...but untill then 50lbs is about all i can stuff in the freezer lol.

I'm gonna experiment with a "clamp" I think, to store them. Then I can give you taters every time I see you for the next 100 years

well got my morning chores done, got sorted, got ice bottles in with the bunnies. Bluebell has delivered 7 healthy looking babies at last count, 6 broken and 1 black otter, wont know the colors on the brokens for at least a week or so...but yay, this is the second time shes gone on the exact due date, i like consistency, makes my life easier lol.
so now im just taking a few mins to go through emails then its put the daylillies into the car (there not looking fantastic but they will prek up once in ground and given a serious watering....pack dozer into the car, put Rowan in a box and into the car and off to cindis for a few hours this afternoon. decided im not too worried about the duvet, it doesnt smell its just looking dingy so when ive got free cash ill make a cover for it...for now...judging by the weather forcast for the next week...there not going to use it anwyay lol.

I had another interest email for buns, hoping that plays out. thinking im going to keep the sable point female, i can breed her to Silver in the fall and should get all kinds of cool suprise colors...that will give me 4 rex does again, haystack as my only true meaty doe and then my 2 mini rex does. need to get my hands on some nice holland does too id like to get one soon, and then another in the fall, still undecided as to if ill get a second meat doe...i probably will but not untill fall...saves me babying another bun over the summer, gives me a little while also before i have to worry about hanging cages for them too.

otherwise, back is NOT going to be happy with me by the nd of the day, and tomorrow is more laundry, sorting and cleaning...but today, today is go hang out with a freidn, watched her get drooled all over and chit chat for a few hours...
i think ive earnt it this month.
and on the way back home ill stop and pick up some fly trapos for the house and rabbitry.

Oooo and this morning, drove past a little tag sale...picked up a metric buttload of various gourds for $3 total (which just so happend to be how much change i had in my car (give or take a penny))
they needto be cleaned, looks like last years crop, there completly dry but havent been cleaned at all so i will have to do ALL the prep work, but cleaned gourds like these ive been looking at for my painting and seeing $5+ for just dried gourds, no cleaning/prep...so definate score.
hoping i can get them all sanded cleaned trimmed out and painted before the end of summer and set myself up a little stall in the early fall to try and make some cash before winter
theres only 1 thats been a litle beaten and got cracked but im thinking...ho says they all have to be birdhouses...
and there all diferent shapes too, some definatly bottle, some birdhouse, some dippers and i think some swan neck. im excited! lol. (what?! ive been looking for gourds for awhile now and always get scared when i see the prices fro unfinnished husks.

anywho. need a drink...not realy ready for lunch so ill just have somehting later, then time to head on out.

well, had a great time today, spenttime this monring getting some stuff done with one friend, then this afternoon was spent with Cindi where dozer got lots ofinsane amounts of loving and is now passed out behind the couch LOL.
got things put away when i got home, then everyone tended and then had dinner...
it was a great day, but now im seriously tired...
and the moment i sat down my back started screaming at me so i know its going to be an early night with Mr.Pain killer and Mrs. Muscle relaxant.

Have you thought about canning the potatoes? I LOVE canned potatoes!! Not sure I'd want to can my own though, cuz I'm lazy.

oh i have, im just not set up right now to can anything...no jars, no canner and nothing large enough to even d a hot water bath method, so im planning making up bathes of things like fries, and diced potatoes, cooking and freezing. freezer space i do have right now and sinc ei like potatoe salad in the summer, if i dice and precook all i have to do is scoop out enough to make a batch of salad, defrost and tada
I know Cindi canned most of hers though...untill the pressure canner decided to turn into an impenatrable time capsule, preserving fresh taters for the future, when they shall have no tatates...lol

i will admit, presure canners kinda scare me lol.

Lol. I only use a water bath canner. Growing up, we've always done venison, green beans, etc in a regular water bath canner. Some people will say "oh well, the people who water bath canned and got sick died", well, this is, afterall, the 21st century. They make medicines if you are that random person who has an issue. We've never had any issues though, and never heard any first hand stories of any issues, dead or alive!

unfortinatly i dnt even have the stuff for waterbath canning right now either, the biggest pan i own would hold mabe 4-5 small jars lol.

well its "the big day" for 3 babbits...or its SUPPOSED to be...
Still NO word on what time to expect these people or if there even comming at all.
So ridiculous! ive got stuff to get done today, i do NOT need to have to stop every 10 mins to check my email to see if and when there comming and if there not comming illbe realy pssed off that they played this out this long...

did manage to get the rabbit hutches done already though. now just popping in before getting the indise crittersfed and some breackfast/brunch for myself before continueing with my day.

well sheets and pillowcases are in the wash, got a start on the bathroom, (letting the cleaner sit for a few mins) andchecked my email. Still nothign from the people who are SUPPOSED to be comming today. im getting seriosuly pissed off with these people, theyve done nothing but give me the run around so far, wanting a bunch of info, then chanign their mind, then wanting a better price, then chanign ghtier mind to whih bunnies, then We cant pick up till the 25th...to NOTHING rom them now its time to come get these 3. GAH!

these folks are either going to just show up or there not comming at all, and if they dont come today im not playing this game with them. this is it, their last chance.
