whew its hot out there.
whent out steaked and tied my maters, gave the buns ice and the quakers fresh water, now im in and taking a few minutes.
its 94 right now.

i have managed to get the bathroom clean, the sheets are out drying (or baking) and should be ready to go back on the bed later (cause i wouldnt want to do it now even if they are ready lol)
The people still havent emailed me about the bunnies...
im pissed...quite frank and royally pissed, theyhave dragged this out for how long now only to not email, nto call and simply not show up...ridiculous! they have my number and my email they could at the very least drop a line.
*grr*

so that means i have 6 bunnies to find homes for again asap. there getting big and eating, and unless there planning on paying for feed...well...
i hate people thatdo this junk. im not here for your convenience. they know im getting ready for family visiting...:barnie

anywho, as i said, bathroom is done, and some outside stuff is done. the goat houseand quacker house will wait untill later/tomorrow morning for its DE and fresh straw, its muhc too hot right now to be outside.
plus...i think its time for lunch!

i cant belive after all theyve put me through over the past 2 months over these bunnies now these people stand me up. so ridiculous!

well all in all today sucked.

got up this morning to find tiny tim dead
whent out this evening to find 2 of the black otter does dead...i dont know what happend, the 2 other black otter does sem fine, the sable points seem fine...i can only assume they surcambe to the heat, but they had ice bottles and water and it was only 88 in their area for the majority of the day, they were fine when i gave them ice this afternoon, but dead and stiff by the time i whent to give fresh water this evening...

i just want to cry.
I will NOT be going to the flea market in the morning, i feel like hell right now emotionaly and physically, and its supposed to be just as hot tomorrow. i had the babies seperated out into 3 different hutches, the 3 supposed to be going home today, the sable point female i was going to keep and the black otter on hold for next week, and then the last 3 in the large hutch theyve been in. tiny tim was in the large hutch, the other 2 deads were both in seperate small hutches...
so i moved them all back into the larger hutch as that has the enclosed "house" which stays cooler anyway.

im not going to do anythign with them in terms of sales untill next week at the earliest...make sure there all healthy...
Im sure it was the heat. seems that only the black ones were realy efected.

thanks hun.
still feeling sucky about it this morning, but too much to get done to realy dwell. the remaining 5 are doing well this morning...going to go give everyone ice in a little while, its not even 80 degrees yet so im not too worried yet, but its supposed to be 95 at the high.
and thankfully the de-graded tomorrows 102 degreens to 97 lol.

lost 1lb this week so im officially yo-yoing around the 154-155 mark, might be where my body has said "I'm done" but we shall see. i realy would like to get another 4lbs gone if possible though.

last night i think we had our firs coyote visit...dozer started having a hissy fit around 10:30pm, and WOULDNT settle...ususlaly i tell him enough and he comes and sits wiht me and keeps watch but settles back down, not last night, so i let him out to show him "theres nothign there" be he was going NUTS at the fence and suddenly i heard somehtig in the distance scurry off and the goats were making unusual calls...
So i leashed up dozer, grabed my flashlight and the broom (because it was handy and the handle is fiberglass and i could deifnalty give something enough of a whack to make it thing twice) and headed on down to check on the goats, dozer gave a couple of menacing barks and growls into the tree line and something relitivly large in the brush ran in the opposite direction, it could have just been a deer, soundplays funny and wiht the heavy brush i couldnt see worth a damn...but once whatever it was exited stage right dozer settled down, the goats stopped mumbling and the bullfrogs started croaking again...i dont think anything could actually get in to the goats short of a small cat (and lord help the cat thats dumb enough)...or a bear (in which case, sorry goats but your robably fending for yourself if theres a bear trying to get in because i doubt a broom handle is going to do muhc in that situation lol

came back up, gave ozer a big fuss and let him off leash and he ran the fence line for a few mins with his nose in the air then peed and was ready for bed so i think he was quite satisfied that whatever evil lurked in the night had gone away. goats are stillhere htis morning and no signs of anythign trying to get under/over the fence so...YAY for Dozer the hero. jasper of course ketp the house safe in the mean time by standing at the window and barking alot lol.

so all ive got left to do this morning before the parents arrive is:

scoop the litterboxes, run the vacume and mop around, wash my breakfast dishes and rinse out the sink and some general light straightening up.

Im thinking about making a quiche for lunch if i get everything done with a little time to spare. mum and dad both like quiche and i can serve hot or cold.
tonight were aparently having catfish lol, dad decided when he heard i now have catfish in the freezer that catfish with boiled red taters woudl be key.
i was going to do a salad but my lettuce has gone bitter. the rabbits will eat it no problem but *sad face* lol. not a wonder though given how hot its been.
anywho, think its time i got off my tuckus and got stuff finnish up arond here before they arrive.

Sorry to hear about the rabbits Pink :hugs

Hope you have a good visit with your folks! I have never had quiche before. My Dad used to call it egg pie, as in "I'm not gonna eat egg pie for supper!" and DH acts the same way about it, although he will gobble down breakfast tacos, which seem to me to be almost the same thing! :p

Hope your folks don't mind the heat!

thanks for the hugs.
i hope they dont mind the heat either, 95 today, 97 tomorrow, upper 80s lower 90s for most of thier visit it looks like LOL.

im not a huge fan of quiche (texture rather than flavor) so im hoping this version which i made with sour cream is a little firmer than usual quiche...but yeah its pretty much omlet pie (or in my case since its crustless, its just an ovenbaked fritata lol. if you like omlets and sch youd probably like quiche and the nice thing is you cna mx whatever you want in with it, this one is just sourcream, chive and cheese. It smells delicious though, you can smel the sourcream and chive...
I figured it was something simple, and i have a metric buttload of eggs in the fridge right now (yes thats an official term of measurment lol) so why not use some...i used 6 eggs in this one but its a 12" pie pan so i needed a few more eggs to fill it lol. anything from 3-5 eggs seems to be "normal"
and mum and dad both LOVE quiche (dads constantly on at mum about making quiche with all their extra eggs each week and freezing them lol)

they just called and are about 2 hours away at this point and will call when they hit the 1/2 hour point so i can put the coffee pot on
Is it odd that im kinda nervous about seeing my parents?

otherwise got everythign done on my to do list, was thinkingabout going out and cleaning my car but then reminded myself that its almost 90 out and i just dont want to lol.

and just because...
the newest additions to the rabbitry.
Bluebell x Bigwig. 7 born all live. 1 self (black otter) and 6 brokens (looks like i might have black otter, chin and castor in the brokens but there so difficult to tell apart at this age. another week and i shoudl have colors :D

002.jpg

just hope this litter does well.

Hazel and Holly are both due monday/tuesday, and the first linnie egg should be hatchign any day now (if they are fertile and i hope they are as Lokie has done such a good job sitting)
so im realy hoping this negates all the bunny yucky from this past couple of weeks.
I swear, irght now i feel like some kind of bunny serial killer!

I'd definately start a new policy on the rabbits... Don't stop advertising until the rabbit is picked up, or you have the money for them. AND, if people want to wait to pick them up, make sure you have a deposit, and explain that you have to charge a daily fee for them until they pick up, and if they don't come by the deadline, they'll be sold to the next person, WITHOUT a refund! Lots of people do this, and it works very well for them. :)

Sorry you lost those bunnies and that your customers aren't doing what they say. Kinda seems like a trend these days to me. I hope the coyote or whatever it was stays away! Have a good Sunday!
