dad thinks i "shouldnt be so far out" because im "in her 20's and needs to be closer to people and clubs and stuff" (yea th agorophobic with social anxiety disorder realy wants to be as close to civilizatin as possible  , he definatly doesnt understand the nature of my "issues" and thinks its just me not trying or "just shy" ect and that if i go out and try to have fun in a soial setting ill "get over it")
but otherwise, he LOVES the roads, "perfect for bikes" and "you could land planes on these things", and loves the Dam area and cant get over how polite and friednly and nice people are and he LOVES the flea markets! lol
mum quite likes the area, likes the people, hates the bugs (because now shes not in CT that means CT has NO bugs...lol...) she likes the downtown savannah type area...
mum and dad are both quite social people so as much as dad claims he wants to be rural i think they do need interaction with others, so dads quite happy neer the dam/savannah area...and i think those areas would be great for mum to make some frinds too, especially if she joined a church (mum is officially catholic, but not a strict "must go to church" type person, but what a good way to make friends...

nothing is set in stone yet, just looking...there still up in the air in terms of what there looking for (price vs land) so weve got veriety to look at today just to get a feel of what each price point will get them in terms of location, space, and land.

itll be nice to have them close, but im glad they think im too far out lol, dont want them TOO close...:p

 Tell mom and dad HI from the self proclaimed adopted brat in Selmer :p

I think Counce would be a great area for them, and I am sure they'll make lots of friends quickly. I am kin to half the people here, so I could introduce them to LOTS of folks if need be.

Have fun house hunting with them!!!! :D

Oh, and your dad is gonna LOVE my road then :p

Edited because I used the rong werd :p

well we just got home after a day of house/site seeing...going back out tomorrow afternoon to look at a few in the savannah area.
theyve got 3 on "the list" in temrs of todays properties.
1: a small property on just an acre about 3 minutes down the road from me, literally. price is right for a quick cash purchase, would need a roof and some cosmetics,
pros: cost, not much land to upkeep when dads away on buisness, house is a doable size with a big garage
cons: its in finger and im not sure the location is the best choice for them...a little far out for mum...
but they both like it, seems to be the one dad is a little more serious about (price point) may be a little too close for comfort for me.

2: is impressive, a 26 acre horse property with a 7 stall barn (simple barn but still very much usable), gorgesou front porch, HUGE on the inside with a gorgeous yard and fully fenced for horses!
pros: close to the dam and selmer and corinth...gorgeous peice of property and move in ready
cons, price point, its at the very top of what dad would be willingt o spend and would have to be mortgaged...its also still a little far out for mum in terms of the social aspect but its only 15 mins to all the little bars and resutraunts around the lake.

3: is just...wow. its a forclosure, and just such a shame, at one point it was an amazing impressive house, indoor pool, marble floors, vaulted ceilings, professional grade stainless steel apliances, and almost 43 cres of wood, valley, hill and creeks.
the agent knew the people that owned it and the property has atv trails throughout, but the owner passed away IN the house about 2 years ago, and has NO family in the US (hes origioanlly scottish) so noone reported him "missing" and he was in the house for about 4 months. the house whent into forclosure a year and a hlaf ago. all the food is still in the house and so theres a musty smell with a major mouse issue (suprisingly the house did NOT smell like rotten food depiste being locked up tight for 1 1/2 years...it just smelt musty and mousey...there was mouse poop and ded mice and mouse nests in all kinds of nooks and crannies. the rooms are still filled with much of his "stuff" his clothes still hang in the closets, his books are all still lining the walls of the library...
some family came over a few months ago, took some furniture and the fridge but left pretty much everything else there.
SUCH a shame.
this property is Gorgeous, the floors are white marble, the counter sare marble, every sink is marble vessel sinks, in 1 bathroom is a huge steam shower unit with a 2 person jacuzzi tub, 5 showerheads, speakers and color therapy unit! in the master bath is a 2 person jacuzzie tub and another jacuzi tub in the far sid of the house. it has 2 wet bars in addition to a luandyr room sink and the kitchen sink, an atrium/greenhouse, tile indoor pool with rock waterfall, rock patio with pond, a laundry room the sie of my livingroom and a full pantry the size of my kitchen.
once you go through the atrium you reach the other half of the house where theres a full bath, 3 bedrooms and a little seating/living area...
ive never seen a house remotly like this...
the bank refuses to have anyone come in and clean the place (the listing agents company even offered to pay to have a crew come and clean it!) so its just been sat because most people cant see through the serious mess inside...
outside its all overgrown and weeds are trying to reclaim the property...
the electronic acess gates have been disconected fomr the power but are huge iron with big lions on them...
pros: with the right work it would be AMAZING, its close to the water and close to town, it has all the land they could ever need...
cons...it needs a buttload of work to even consider it livable....

if i won the lottery...it would be mine!
and mum loves it. dad loves it too but the amount of work to clean it up and lay a real driveway is scary! (its dirt track) and i think it worries him.

so the ones tomorrow are in town, smaller lots but lower price point...so we'll see if any of those knock these 3 off the list.

then form there ive done my job lol.
gonna go feed and put everyone to bed then sausage and meatballs for dinner.
early night for me i think...im tired!

#3 sounds amazing! What a shame they won't let someone come in and clean it!

it is amazing...if they brought in a cleaning crew and got that place just tidied up, theyd probably have major bidding wars over it...but theyd rather just let it sit and rot.

WOW! OK, the fact that the bank is stingy and won't get it cleaned could work in your favor for #3, but I am weirded out about the owner not only dieing in the house, but being left there for a while. I am surprised there wasn't any of 'that' smell in the house, especially since it was sealed up. I know. Call me a freak. I believe in ghosts and restless spirits, and a guy whom nobody noticed was dead for quite a while, may be really restless :p On the other hand, due to ALL those factors, your parents could really low ball it! Do they want a big house?

Let's see, if I got to vote, which I don't :p I'd vote for #2. How is the market in the area? If it stinks as bad as here, everything's negotiable ;)

Number one may sound good to them, but may make you feel a little 'crowded'.

House hunting is fun though, I love to go look at properties and imagine the possibilities!

there definatly focused on the "dead guys house" right now.
honestly i do belive in "spooks" as dad calls them (so do mum and dad, dad grew up in a VERY VERY (and agressivly) haunted house) and i consider myself quite sensitive to spirit (and so does dad) and honestly the house has a slightly "sad" feeling...even dad said that if the guy is still there, he must be heart broken to see this house that was VERY obviously his pride and joy, with an awefull lot of high value high quality goods and that it would only be right to "fix" it up the way its supposed to be...
says if he is still around, he cant imagine any spook would be upset by a new owner assuming they apreciate the property for what its for.
i didnt get any kind of malicious, or unwelcoming feeling...infact it felt very comfortable...(but a little "sad")
he built that place to show it off...to entertain and to be truly enjoyed...

they were talking about the cheap one down the road, but dad keeps going back to not having enoguh land...
and the newe one as beautiful as it is...it just didnt have that same special "click" for either parent that Tir Na nOg has (thats the name of the property)
right now i think thats the one...
assuming we dont see anythign truly amazing tomorrow...lol

dads planning on going home, getting things sorted and assuming things go according to plan the idea is, if its still there when there ready its meant to be.
its been on the market 1 1/2 years and aparently recived an offer 2 months ago of "a little under the asking price" (she cant disclose obvioulsy) but they refused it...
they want full asking price...
dad thinks theres some wheeling/dealing going on behind the scens...trying to hold onto it for some reason...but also thinks if they offer full price with some kind of clean up cost contingency, they might be more interested in working with them...
as it stands right now...most peopel just arnt going to be able to look past the piles of mouse poop and personal posessions all over the place.

We have a house around the corner EVERYBODY here calls 'The Murder House' Nice house, big pole barn, 5 acres. Sat vacant for 4 years. Bad vibes, for sure. People bought it, 6 months later, there's a for sale sign out front. :/ The previous owners son was... lets say unstable. He was demanding money from his parents all the time. They put their foot down. He shot his Dad in the pole barn, his Mom and himself in the house. Our old house was directly behind theirs, through the woods. I heard the shots, but people target practice all the time here, so thought nothing of it. A lot of hostility trapped there, if you ask me.
If the house your parents/you like just feels sad, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Do you know what bank is holding it? Some are just plain jerks to deal with, some are really flexible, and some want to dump properties asap (those are my personal favorites ;) ). Sounds like the bank wants to sell the property *as it was/could be, not taking into account what happened/what sitting for 1 1/2 years can do/the state of the interior at present. That means it's somebody who probably hasn't seen it, may have appraisal pictures, and is basing everything off those. That's a tough one to deal with.

I have a very strong hunch from a business standpoint, they are wanting to hold that house until the market goes up Pinky, THEN they'll clean it up and ask more for it. So yeah, full asking price or nothing on that one.

I'd help clean it up for the folks if that's such an issue ;) Sounds like a great deal if it suits them.

I know of a house in Adamsville, half of the property in the city, half in the county. The house is old, but it sits on 6 acres, chainlinked back yard, and just on the outskirts of the booming metro Aville area  The house is liveable, but there would be a good bit of work needed in the near future. He's asking 45K. He doesn't have it on the market, just for sale by owner. I could probably set up a time to look if you'd like. Just call me, I have to go get supplies in Corinth in a minute.
