well...2pm and still no word form the dealership with the mini.
no word back on more info on the Honda either.
word back however from a completely different dealership...08 hatchback yaris (same year as the one I looked at) with an automatic gearbox...same price as the one I was looking at...with a guaranteed trade n on my car same as the Toyota dealership in Memphis was offering...right about where I was expecging on a monthly payment and no issues with financing with my credit score.

if I don't hear anything back form the mini guy (the mini was a little cheaper) by the end of the day im heading down there to take the yaris for a spin...can walk out with her same day too.

Mini: 2003 with 113K on the engine.
mpg 25/33
pros: adorable, nimble, good all weather handling, priced lower!
cons: this particular year has some bad reviews for reliability

Yaris: 2008 with 65K on the engine.
mpg 29/35
pros: adorable, nimble, and great reviews for reliability
cons: more expensive (monthly payment will be about $30 more).

so yeah.

only down side that's mutual is both are light colors, the mini is yellow and the yaris is white...
lol!

Five years newer and 50K less mileage.... Yaris is looking pretty good! And, you'll make up some of that $30 bucks a month on gas - and hopefully, with a newer vehicle, no extra problemos!

But, YOU are the one who has to live with it, lol - so I say get what you want! Maybe you'll get good news on the mini. :)

so it looks like

2008_Toyota_Yaris_S_3.jpg

is going to be my new cream puff.
we submitted the financing info and it too some fanangling (most places are hesitant to loan on such a small income) but strings pulled and the HIGEST financing interest rate right now is still going to be cheaper than most places ive looked into. and there willing to give me 72 months with no pre-payment penalties instead of 60 months which realy helps the monthly.

I think overall shes a better deal, reviews are better in terms of reliability and expense of parts (mini uses specific specialty parts which bumps repair costs up, the yaris however is apparently super easy to work on!)
the guys been nothing but helpful and realy ontop of things...no sitting around wondering...as soon as hes known, ive known...

ive been looking at the yaris since some of the earlier models came out...then after telling me they were ugly my ex got one just after we broke up...nothing bugged me more at that point lol.
looks like ill be getting my own :D

so yeah.
kinda excited...
not about the prospect of taking on more depbt when I should be trying to get out of it...
but about the prospect of cutting my g0-juice budget and having a newer (my cars an 02) smaller vehicle with good more usable cargo space. its not going to give me ALOT of cargo space...but more usable than I get form the sebring when Its too cold to ride tiwh the top down lol.

hatch back makes loading a lot easier, seats fold completely flat for some deacent hauling space (wouldn't want to heave too much weight but over short distances wouldn't be a big deal) and enough room that I could let keira sprawl out on longer trips...a little bit of personalization and I think it looks like a "me" car. :)

as a side note, all cars have faces..
the yaris has a smiley kitty face! headlights are the eyes grill is the mouth :D

Agoraphobia DOES suck - but you do fight back! That's a good thing...:)

Hope it all goes well and that you're driving your new baby today!

Love her!

got $500 more on trade in value on my car than promised! YAY!
and they added in a 3 yr warentee with some pretty amazing coverage, anything happens to any of the systems (not general maint like tires or oil changes but anything physical...$50 deductible at the place i bought it, or $100 deductible at ANY participating dealership in the US (which in this case is any Honda or Toyota dealership!)
plus roadside assistance, rental assistance towing, and up to 3 nights at a time (no limit) full room and board at any of their participating hotels (and its a huge list of national chains) for any issues that require the vehicle to be "housed" for repairs for a few days...

she drives great, not as much get up and go as the V6 obviously but eveyrthings nice and responsive, stearing is great now ive gotten used to it and she HUGS the curves...shes definatly a "country road" kind of car. Super nimbler!

and the weirdest part...shes TINY...BUT...she feels like a huge car, she sits quite high and with plenty of ehad room, theres no crouching down to get in seat is right at a nice natural getting in getting out position...so your sat rather high when driving and it definatly has a more substantial feel.
head room is insane, a 7 ft tall man could EASILY drive one of these comfortably, and that also means WOW on the cargo space, more than i expected by a long shot...to the point where i should be able to get the rest of the rabbit cages in max, 2 trips, and that includes hauling the big wooden hutch which SHOULD fit in 1 piece with the seats dropped...that's pretty impressive for a car that's not much longer than i am tall LOL!.

as much as i HATE that i now have another bill to pay...
im EXTATIC, especially with the added bonus of knowing if something happens like the motor dies or the onboard computer crashes...fixed!

and my car insurance bill should drop a few bucks too! so im going to go get that sorted now.

*happy dance*
