Wonderful news Aly. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Things do have a way of working out for the best.

I do have a question though. You keep talking about running water. Where you live is NOT having running water into the house a reason for being a bad parent? You do have a water souce. Its not like you, Ernie and the kids are wallowing in filth with no clean water source.

I mean geewhiz - look at all the families with children these days living in tent cities. Not to mention the fact that neither of my parents grew up with running water. Wonder how my mom has survived to be 88 years old growing up like that. My dad only lasted 76 years. I guess because of that life style.

Relax - all will work out.

Well, yes, that is one of the things that was complained about, that we didn't have running water. They also complained that I have chicks (farm animals) in my house in a brooder.

NOTHING on the list of complaints is true (except the chicks in the house), and even if they were true, none of it is illegal or a sign of bad parenting. It's all opinions, how other people think we should be raising our kids, and trying to force the issue, instead of allowing us to live our lives and raise our kids.

Welcome to Socialism! :barnie

Well happy anniversary. DH and I just celebrated our 2nd anniversary. We both laughed since we had been living together for 7 years before we tied the proverbial knot. And knew each other for 3 years prior to the living arrangement. That makes a total of 12 years for us. So we have no clue which anniversary to celebrate.

as i mentioned in my first journal post i grew up living the SS life.
when we sold our beef farm when i was 4 we moved to what is now what we call marble rock the property i own with my mom. for the first 2 years we lived there no no make that 4 at least ill have to check with my ma (pam) we lived without running water not even a well to pump from till i was 7 or 8. we lived in tents for the summer and for the first two winter we lived in a 15x20 garden shed that is 6 of us 2 parents and 4 kids from 5 to 9. luckily we lived on 130 acres so it was impossible not to fall in love with nature especially in winter.
our back property line is the gananoque river and as soon as it was warm enough my younger brother and i would pretty much move down there for the summer in our tent and fish. eventually we built a tree fort off the side of a cliff that we could sleep in (amazingly a testament to my early building skills it is still standing a usable without much upkeep over the last 15 years)
needless to say there are tonnes of people who live just fine without running water. we all could learn a good deal about the amount of water we use just by hauling it for a day or two.
as a kid i used to dream of how big an muscular i was going to get caryring water everywhere. this i am a fraid to say is not what happened i am still a skinny man.
enough rambilin i got get on this day or else i wont
i just came into make a quick cuppa now see what happened
ciao

Happy anniversary!!!!!!

And Tuesday can't come soon enough. Imagine. My dad remembers the outhouse, and the "pee-can" upstairs in the winter and for at night. Family of 13, 11 kids!!! Must've been some big pee-can!

At first I thought, chicks in the house, so what, that is normal for everyone.....ooops, there I go again, with my own idea of what is normal! At least you have byc to prove that brooding chicks in the house is normal. And there are enough pictures on all the forums to prove that the occasional goat in the house is even normal!! :gig

Sorry, couldn't help the giggle.

People like your outlaws clog up the system by crying wolf and having an agenda against someone, while the really endangered children slip through the cracks. I would love to go up one side of them and down the other. :rant Although normally somewhat shy, I can become a ferocious mama bear and would love to let that shine on them!!!! :smack

Meanwhile, for you and your family.... :hugs

2dream, I just realized I didn't answer your question!

No, not having running water in the house is not a reason for being a bad parent. There are MANY families in our county who don't have running water in their house. It's actually a pretty common thing in this area.

Also, the report that there is not running water in the house is true, but what they failed to report is we have access to water, which is all that is required.

I'm not worried. I've been happy, and almost at peace since yesterday. :)

Just lots of praying. :)

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. :)
