So glad you all made it home in one piece! That can be a scary experience,..I hate freeways, or interstates, or whatever you want to call them. I stick to two lanes or one lane roads or I ain't going! This is why I don't travel much . My DH hates it if we decide we are going on a trip,..I have to map it out because of this. My way or no way,...you know???
I envy you getting to go to Meyers,...I wanted to get me some baby chicks this year,..but I guess I better let it go for now. Maybe later,...
Hey and what a deal on getting those free chickens! Quick profit making!
God was watching out for you all! There are so many horrible drivers out there. People driving drunk, stoned, on the cell phone or just plain ole stupid. I am glad you stayed safe!
I had a chick hatch out of my own eggs overnight - thought it was a pure mille, but again, I must have somehow mixed up those dang eggs!
Fixing to head over to Becca's in a bit to make lunch for her mom and make sure she doesn't need anything until Becca gets home from work.
Plan to spend the afternoon working on breed pens and separating out my Langshans and probably my BLRW.
I currently have eggs coming out my ears. Need to separate breeds so I can sell them as hatching eggs.
Collected FOUR call duck eggs this morning! I was so excited about that.
I need to work on wording listings for eBay to sell my hatching eggs there - I'm just terrified of listing them on eBay. I am more comfortable listing on BYC, but I can only post 3 listings per 30 days on BYC - I'm not complaining about that, I'm just saying it's more of a "community" atmosphere, so I feel "safer" posting eggs on BYC. BUT, I get a wider customer base on eBay, but I'm terrified of the buyers on eBay. I've not had a bad experience selling other stuff on eBay, but I'm not sure how the experience will be on hatching eggs.
I want to cover all my bases before I post on eBay. I need to word things to cover myself, so a customer can't come back and complain (and win) that they didn't have a good hatch.
So my wording needs to do the following:
1. accurately describe the eggs and the birds they came from
2. point out that I cannot guarantee hatch rate
3. express plainly that feedback should be left upon reciept of eggs and the condition of eggs on arrival - NOT 21 days later after hatch.
4. I'll put my NPIP
5. I'll not be liable for their hatch rate due to handling/mishandling of eggs and their moderating of their own incubator.
6. Buyer will be responsible for paying for shipping of replacements and replacements will not be given UNLESS they take pictures of the box upon arrival and of the eggs. (meaning, if they offer me PROOF of the condition the eggs/package upon arrival.
7. All packages will be shipped with tracking and delivery confirmation - so they can't say "didn't arrive" I can check online and see if package was delivered...
Anything else??? Of course I'll describe my packing techniques, but other than that, do you think I have all my bases covered????
