It does not sound selfish to me at all! I have to admit I don't know anything about the program but it sounds like he's ready for something like that!

I used to work for Head Start. I loved it. I will say that it seems that different counties and different states run their programs a little differently. Your little one will have a good time. I would say take the opportunity for the nap and do not feel guilty AT ALL. :D

and: Yay for free school supplies! :woot

Thank you! :)

Today was another great day! Kids had their first day of school and loved it! AND not only do they get on the bus an 40 minutes later than last year, but they got home an hour earlier!!!!!!! WHOOT!!!

I got to go to the doctor and have my first end of pregnancy crotch check. DIDN'T love it. But, I am measuring at 36 1/2 weeks, which means I was right and I WILL be 37 weeks on Saturday, where my Dr. says I'll be 36 weeks Saturday.

Took baby boy to Walmart and used the last bit left on a gift card to get him a book bag for headstart. He was sooo excited over that bag! He said, "I'm going to put pictures and juice and snacks in my back pack!" lol

Came home to a HEAVY package from my Aunt in Georgia!! It was filled with absolutely adorable outfits for baby girl, blankets, socks, a hooded towel, a name plaque for her wall, and a homemade afghan! (her fourth crocheted afghan!!! LOL) This girl has EVERYTHING! and will be the best dressed baby EVER! She even sent baby girl her first Christmas outfit!

So, she has a Halloween outfit, and now a Christmas outfit....guess I need to get back to Khol's and get her that cute Thanksgiving outfit :hide :gig

Aaawwwwww!!!:love

I was just thinking about my oldest the other day and how stinking cute he was at that age. And EVERYTHING was SO EXCITING...even something as simple as a backpack :D

OK so you want to know what day that critter will make his/her debut? Well, we doc's always try to calculate 280 lunar days from the FDLMP. Now some ladies actually KNOW what day THAT happened. If that is the case, then add 279 days to THAT day and you get what we call the EDC (expected day of Confinement) (sounds like going to jail huh?) which is the best guess we can make. Some will use the "Crown-rump" measurement on the ultrasound and that can be fairly good as to date but never perfect. :duc

So, in the end, we can measure the "Fundal Height" and we can calculate the EDC based on the first day of the Last Menstrual Period but if you really want to know what day, ASK THE BABY. THEY KNOW! :ya

This cracked me up, couldn't help it!

I actually KNOW which day THAT happened, so down, I can almost tell you date and time - but I'll spare those details....lol but I told my Dr. this is the ONLY day I could have got preggers - and by THAT day, I told her when baby would be due, and they agreed until my near 20 week ultrasound (we thought I was 19 weeks 6 days) where they said baby measured 18 weeks and 4 days, but admitted the u/s could be off a either way - so they changed my due date to a week later.

Now she's scratching her head as to why I'm measuring a week bigger than she thinks I should be :gig

So my daughter is growing up :hit she chose her own outfit for school today, and while I wouldn't have chose it, she said all the girls are wearing it. T-shirt, leggings, and skirt...NO socks. uggg. The no socks is KILLING me.

She then asked me to help with her hair - pony tail on one side of the head...TOTALLY Punky Brewster look to me. Ugg.

At first, I started to tell her to go change - and at that moment I realized I almost became MY mother... :th She said it's how all the girls are dressing - and I flashbacked to being a kid and wanting to look like the other kids and "fit in" and mom would say, "you're not wearing that. Those girls are going to grow into little whores if their mom keeps letting them dress that way. Men get bad ideas looking at little girls and how they dress...." yadda yadda yadda. you get the idea.

It was not tight leggings - infact, they were pretty baggy. The t-shirt covered her middle, and while the skirt was shorter than I'd like, the leggings kept it from being indecent.

So I helped her with her ponytail, gave her a necklace and matching bracelet to wear, sprayed smell goodies on her, and cried after she got on the bus.

I couldn't help it.

My husband thinks I'm a geek.

My boys looked at me like I was nutters.

The chickens are now whispering about the "crazy lady in the house" behind my back. The turkey's were laughing at me. And the geese just shook their heads in disgust.

sigh.
