I'm sorry, haven't been able to get online much. The computer was moved to my bedroom, and I don't have internet access in my bedroom, but my nephew lets me use his laptop occassionally, but I don't really like using the laptop. I'm partial to my desktop I guess LOL
Was sick most of last week and part of this week. My nose is still stuffy, and I have a bit of a sore throat still, but no more fever
DH's catscan went OK. The procedure itself was quick, but they kept him under observation for an hour to make sure he didn't develop any spinal headaches.
Today we put up the dog kennel we had got from keljonma. Originally we were going to house the turkeys in it, but all three of my turkey hens have hidden nests that they are trying to set, so we moved my 8 Speckled Sussex into the kennel instead. It works out, too, as it is tall enough that they cannot fly out! Two of the girls even laid an egg for me in their new pen.
I've managed to get a job. I am not sure when I start yet. Pay isn't too bad, guaranteed 40 hours a week. Tuesday I am supposed to be there at 2 pm for a tour of the facility and for my final interview, but since I passed the assessment this week, they told me the final interview is more of a formality than anything.
Tomorrow we are going to go help a friend with a "house raising" so to speak. They are building an addition to their home, and having a noon time meal for all the "help". We are hoping to have all the walls framed in for them tomorrow and up. We've decided if this goes well, then we'll have one, too, when we add on to our place!
Aly, I've always thought those Amish barn raisings seemed like alot of fun! Back in the old days they had a lot of "workin's" to accomplish big chores. I think that is wonderful! Wish we lived closer....I'd come to your house raisin'!
When our church has a firewood ministry we can't wait until it happens. Even though our church folk aren't the most joyous of people, my kids and I and a few of the gals from another church sure make a fun time of it. This year I even convinced them to have a bonfire afterward....some of them didn't know what that was and seem confused as to why we would think it was fun. There were a few little boys there who had never been around a campfire and didn't even know how to roast a marshmallow! Neither did their dad!
Maybe you should host an SS house raisin' and folks could come from all over, bring tents and campers and set up and have an old-fashioned shindig and workin'! Wouldn't that be the coolest?
Glad to hear the fencing is working for you. Even Lady Bird, our Golden Penciled Hamburg, never flew out of that fence. Although that doesn't mean she didn't try. Watch out how high you put roosts in, if you're going that route.
