That is what my problem was- dh is a pushover. We have been ripped off so many times that I have come to learn that if I don't say anything then it will happen again. I still dont TRY to be mean, just direct and in the open. Dh and step fil were rollling out of the chairs when dh was telling him about going car shopping with me. Kinda hurt my feelings.
Rebecca,..don't let others make you feel bad for being yourself. :hugs
Like you said your DH is a pushover,..like mine, and sometimes you have to be that way to keep from being burnt so to speak.

Guys see a motor and a shiny paint job. It can turn their brains a little soft. Then the friendly salesman gets them to sign away their wallet.
A girl that knows cars still stays more logical about it. If guys want to call that mean- :tongue

You did great!

I guess I shouldn't feel bad about it. After all he was trying to cheat us out of a lot of money. Dh wasn't trying to hurt my feelings, I think he was just suprised and found it quite funny that I "told him off" according to him. Either way I am proud of the car, but it feels kinda funny. I have in my life only had 3 cars and all 3 were POS. We just never put any stock in cars . We have also never had a "newer" vehicle. The newest we've ever owned the '98 that we traded in. Now I have an '05 really nice car. Just doesn't feel right at all.
Well anyway today has been a pretty good day.I am cleaning the press to press some apples in the morning for vinegar and I am waiting for Food, Inc. to buffer while I type this. I think I am going to try to make kefir sometime this or next month. I do have questions about kefir, mostly if it can be used with store bought cow milk and still turn out okay? If so I may be looking for grains in the next week or so. Someone in our area has some I just need to find out who.
It was funny. We ran out of TP and I had already told DH about the cloths nearly a week ago. He came through the house a few minutes ago with an old flannel shirt and scissors and a bucket. Who woulda ever thunk? I checked just to make sure and sure enough there were flannel squares in the cabinet! Where did my husband go?

Well, dh being home is actually nice somethimes. Yesterday he started some kraut and put apples in the dehydrator while I ground and pressed apples for cider for my vinegar. Then I made apple butter(kinda) out of what was left of the apples. I ended up with nearly 2qts of cider that I have hidden covered by a cloth held on with a jar band in the back of my cabinet. Dh also make candied lemon and orange peels. We got all of our produce other than half the apples on the reduced stand. I got about 18 different color apples for about $2 and dh paid like $.80 for his pack of lemons and oranges. Of course we had to buy some full price apples to get enough cider. We also put some sheets of glass on the porch to make a sunroom. The sheets are nearly 4x8 green tempered thick sheets that were given to us a couple of years ago that we have managed to save, we have 5 or six left.

I just went outside and found a litter of chilled baby rabbits. I have them inside with a warm water bottle. Two of them were already dead and the rest were barely moving. :(

Two of the baby rabbits lived. A little white one and a black one with white feet. This morning they are both doing great and bouncing like they should be and are back with their mother. Yesterday they were barely moving. I wasn't sure if they were going to pull through or not. I brought them inside and gave them a warm jar of water to cuddle to and put them near the heater and covered them.
Last night dh and I made an incubator out of an old styrofoam box and the guts out of my broken bator and a little fan. We test ran it last night with bags of water to see if it would hold a steady temp. it took awhile to reach the target temp, but held it within .2 degrees once it did. Soooo.... we filled it with 7 1/2 dozen eggs and will put the rest in this afternoon. The one thought that keeps going though my head is that is a LOT of rotten eggs if anything goes wrong! Today I am going to start my first quilt. I am going to try a raggedy quilt. They look pretty simple. I think I can do that. Then maybe I can try something a little more difficult.
