Well here they are the psycho mulie pics. And my dh has a double pair of hoof prints in his leg to prove the psycho part. And all he was doing was getting her off the trailer. her head was loose so he had to get in first to catch her and she had none of it!
Don't let the cute looks fool you. She has a mean bone and I am afraid she will need a lot of grown up handling before my dd will be allowed to handle her. BTW see the wagon in the back...... Hmmm......
Unfortunately she is not our first. We have had two(she makes three) mules, three donkeys and about 20 horses(my mil raised paints) since my dh and I got married. We have our quarterhorse and a mini horse, that goes to the wagon in the background, on pasture right now. And we were offered a paint gelding that was used as a trail horse in Colorado in trade for our stock trailer. I don't think we will do it. We have a horse and a stock trailer, but having two doesn't cost us anything not to use, unlike a horse!
Arkansas looks gorgeous! I love the trees - reminds me alot of Oregon & Washington state and makes me think I should make it a point to see it one day.
What a cutie (your mini mule) I'm sorry about your hubby OUCH! The mule is probably frightened, and being a prey animal, it has a fight or flight instinct - so if it can't run away (that being it's first choice) it will naturally try to fight, and kicking, striking, and biting are it's only defenses. I hope you have someone knowledgeable at least with horses to help you with this one, as even tho it's small, it can be dangerous.
What a great wagon! It's probably a bit on the large side for the little mini mule, but wow - How cool to have one It looks like it's in great condition too!
I bet you could find a small cart for your mini to pull, or if your hubby is handy, he could probably build one size appropriate for your little guy. I sure wish I could find a deal like that here - what fun!
eta: I hadn't read yet that you have experience - sorry!
LOL it IS a mini wagon!! Our mini horse pulls it! The front seat is just big enough to hold one adult comfortably. MY dh was raised with horses since his mom raised paints and also owned a couple of mustangs. My first horse was actually a mustang. Since this one has not been handled much it is basically the same theory about handling and training. Easy with patience and reward. I don't think it has taken many rides on trailers, especially to strange places. (BTW the feed store owner told us it was gentle and well handled.) It looks at us suspiciously and is nervous, definately NOT gentle and well handled. I guess it's our fault for buying her without a good look, after all we just saw her running loose down the highway with the others. I guess that should have told us something. Oh well we have had problem horses before and if we can get her to trust us then I think she will prove to be alright.
I wonder how much he wants for the real mini horses? There were a couple of pretty ones in the group.
