I don't know how I missed this!
I hope that you are beginning to see improvement.
I was in charge of my DH's picc line and all I can add is- -it is great to be able to administer medications at home.
Do you have any idea how long ago you were bitten and infected? I read back through this thread and didn't see that mentioned.
A co worker contracted Lyme last September, saw the tick and the resultant rash ring. Other than extreme fatigue, her eyebrows immediately fell out, and was told that was highly unusual. She penciled them in so dark and perfect that we thought she had them tattooed on, lol. Picture black magic marker eyebrows.
You have really gone through so much lately with the shingles and the hot flashes and now Lyme! I truly hope that you feel better soon.
Sylvie, they now think the shingles was part of the Lyme infection, as I had an atypical red ringed rash all around the shingle area. Hopefully I was bit around mid to late May, so I haven't had it for longer than two months or so. I never saw the tick. The PICC line is ok, I'm over being skeeved out by it, the infusions go well, I think I've got another two weeks left on them. Each day is incrementally better than the previous one, but I had a bad morning this morning. Hopefully it doesn't happen again tomorrow. I hate taking the dilaudid (sp?) but sometimes it's the only thing that works against the nerve pain.
WOW! I don't know how I missed this one either! Hoping everything works out and you have a very speedy recovery. I feel an ornery spell comin' on and we need you here to keep me in line.
I have to share with you guys the wonderful thing that happened to me today. I had a visit from Natalie and her husband. Natalie knew I was down and couldn't do anything in my garden, so she packed her tools up and came to help me - and boy oh boy did she ever. She weeded my new herb garden and then moved out back to my really weedy veggie garden. You just can't ignore weeds during July, especially when we've had so much rain, but I just couldn't do anything about them - this Lyme garbage really is an energy drain. She weeded and weeded and weeded, I did manage to harvest the garlic and shallots, while she weeded and weeded - I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful gardening friend help me out.
Meanwhile, up in the front yard, her husband and mine spent the afternoon scraping the moss and weeds out of the cracks of the brick walk and patio and spread fresh stone dust - her hubby also lifted and reset several bricks that had sunk over a dry well! I was floored, I hadn't expected that at all. The whole walk looks wonderful, now I'll have to get the edger out and make sure the grass is well away from it, again, so it'll look good for a few more years! Keeping the weeds at bay is usually easier than this summer, but with all the rain and the weeks of inattention it had really gotten ahead of me.
Thank you, Natalie, and Bill, from the bottom of my heart!
