I got home last Saturday from a week in the hospital. My sister forced me to go the previous Saturday and thank goodness she did. Not that my husband wasn't paying attention, but I'm really good at telling him what I'm going to do - he knew I was sick but was getting nowhere with me, poor guy.

You guys know I've not been right for awhile. Turns out I've got advanced Lyme Disease, developed meningitis and darn near died that weekend. My brain was swelling and I couldn't realize how bad I was. I've spent a week on my back in bed getting all kinds of IV meds for numerous infections, the critical one was the meningitis, the worst long term is the Lyme. I've got A PICC line and will have visiting nurses teaching me how to give myself IV meds for the next three weeks. Hopefully they can do something about it, I am bummed to think of the long term effects of the Lyme.

I'll be around now for awhile, housebound, basically, can't teach, I don't know what I'll be able to do in the garden,we'll see...

It just keeps piling up on us here....sorry for the whine.

:hugs Whine away, this is a good place for it! I was wondering where you were. I thought maybe since no one was naughty lately, you were just lurking.....I'm so sorry you have had such a devastating diagnosis. Lyme is so tricky, and even here in Lyme country, it often is not diagnosed until very late in the game.

I hope your treatment is rapidly successful...... :hugs

Oh Ann! I ma so glad you went in!
It is so easy to dismiss these things, thank God your sister took control.

My Dh has had a headache for a week and just will not take action. I called the Dr today for an appointment for him, so he will be seen today!

Take it really easy, just rest, don't push yourself out into the garden, your body need to heal. :hugs

Why do we always have to be pushed into taking care of ourselves? I'm glad your sis put her foot down, and I'm very glad you have a sister who will put her foot down.
May you recover quickly & completely!

So sorry to hear about all your troubles lately! Wow! Will keep you in my prayers.
If I were in your shoes I would seriously consider doing a parasite cleanse for the Lyme's disease. (give your body time to get over the meningitis first though I would think)
There is a REALLY good one from a company called Unicity. It is called Clearstart. I do it ever once in a while to keep clean, but it did help me with some big health issues a few years ago and paprasite cleanses are recommended for Lymes disease. Do your own research. You take care of yourself!

If you are going to do a parasite cleanse make sure you drink all the water they tell you to!

Ann, I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Thank God for your sister's persistence.

My BIL has had chronic lyme's disease for about the past 12 years. He is not a very good patient. He takes the meds for a while and then quits. He has a PICC line, too, for IV antibiotic infusions every day. He doesn't take care of himself otherwise, either. He smokes, gets no excercise and has a terribly negative attitude.

I know other people who have struggled with lyme's and now lead very near normal lives.

Sending you prayers and hugs :hugs
