Yes, I do have a wonderful sister, and the rest of them are awesome, too! This is hard for me, having everyone doing what I should be doing. I've got to learn to rest and let go. That attitude is what got me in trouble in the first place.

Living in CT I've known/know many people who have had Lyme Disease. My MIL still has arthritis symptoms from it. She's the type who never stops moving, is always puttering. It was hard for her to stop and allow others to do things for her too, so she pushed herself too hard. I swear she's paying for it now. My cousin had syptoms that sound a lot like yours. She's still got a few lingering symptoms but she's doing much much better these days.
Enough about them-you allow yourself to be taken care of. I'm so glad you finally listened to your sister.

Ann, first off please take the time to get better, self ivs are a pain but you need the meds. Being in the heart of deer tick country myself, I am always cautioned to look over my body many times a week. DW and I look over ourselves as well as the kids. DD found a small one the size of " o " in her belly button this spring.

I hope it was caught in time that the treatment you are taking will cure it and bring you back to a near full recovery.

On a sad note, this is a very evil/serious disease, and I pray that you will recover.

Often docs will give you a short treatment 1 week, but longer treatment is needed.

From this site
http://underourskin.com/film.html

A gripping tale of microbes, medicine & money UNDER OUR SKIN investigates the untold story of Lyme disease, an emerging epidemic larger than AIDS. Each year thousands go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, often told that their symptoms are "all in their head." Following the stories of patients and physicians fighting the disease, the film brings into focus a haunting picture of the health care system and a medical establishment all too willing to put profits ahead of patients.

DW caught it a couple years ago, we caught it early and went to the right docs to get help. Today she is back to norm, although she suffered from being tired for another 3-4 months.

Please take it easy, read some of the info on the links I posted, ilads is a great site to gather more info to educate yourself on this covered up disease.

Some docs will tell you your crazy if you want them to treat you for the disease.

Sad state that some of our docs are in...

I will add you to my prayer list, how ever your blessings come, take it easy for a few weeks.

Thankfully I was assigned to a great infectious disease doctor who doesn't fool around with Lyme. I think the course of treatment will be long enough to catch this and get rid of it. I think after this I'll get oral antibiotics for a period of time, too. I have my fingers crossed!

That's the way it went for MIL. I find most of the doctors around here (maybe New England in general, and Westchester County NY where my in-laws are) take it pretty seriously. Sometimes they'll even start a patient on antibiotics right away if they suspect Lyme.
