If they'd of asked, I would have let them. But they didn't. And as I said, nothing is wasted, there are plenty of critters up there who eat their share.
Ann, that's our opinion, too. If you ask, 99% of the time, I'll share. Some people have no couth whatsoever. :rant

It would have taken no time at all to ask the other neighbor to get in touch with you to ask permission.

BTW, how are you feeling? :frow

Nothing like bad neighbors. I have some right now that it seems I will be living next door to for some time. We keep praying they will move.LOL

I can't stand people that think they can just take or use whatever - Ask me and its yours - try to take it and we will probably fight.

As things stand right now and as time goes on these types of problems will only get worse.

Sorry about your neighbors! When we had more hens, people walking their dogs on our little back-street, would see them and walk through our back lawn WITH their dogs to the coup, and watch them. We always went out and said (as nicely as we could) "You can come in if you want, but NEVER EVER bring your dog back on our property." Urg. Some people!

Better and better each day. I found out the IV is coming out August 16th, that makes me happy, because I'll have been on antibiotics for six weeks then - I'll be confident that they got rid of the Lyme with that treatment!

Hopefully there will be enough berries in the back yard for me to pick a bunch tomorrow. I won't be able to get as many as previous years, I won't have the stamina, but I'll get a bunch :)

Might've been nice had they asked first, then, upon finding out that you are ill and that is why you haven't harvested the berries, they might've been gracious enough to freeze at least half of their haul for you, or find out how you like them put up and make jam, preserves, pie filling, whatever, for you. That is what I would've done.

Feel free to print this out and give it to them! Not everyone was raised correctly, but it is never too late to learn good manners.

Make that organic, wild, blueberries! ;)

I'm sorry to hear about your newest neighbors, Reinbeau. That kind of thing gets under my skin. I am the sort of person who would put up razor wire, if I didn't have my husband around to talk me out of it. I hope your neighbors are sensible enough to listen to reason, without getting offended. Good luck. It is always better to make nice . . . that is what my experience has shown. Even if you have to grit your teeth while being nice. :/

I agree with billing them for the product!!!

Before we moved to our vacation home permanently we noticed that someone was picking every pear off our trees each year. When we made this our primary residence there was some resentment aimed towards us by the immediate neighbor, who we believe had been letting friends hunt on our land in exchange for unknown favors. Neighbors get very accustomed to free reign over absentee owner's property from my experience.
I have no helpful suggestions beyond what others have put forth. I wish I knew who to bill for the stupid pears, lol!
