I'm hoping to get a Cocker come fall. But, I want one from working lines, not show. And, I want a field coat, not show! Not sure if I want to go English or American. It might depend on what I can find.

english are definatly worth looking for, but mostly the difference is structure ove function if your going working lines anyway. also the working bred americans look alot more like an english than the table/pet bred americans...
You cant go wrong with a cocker :) people say there dumb but all of ours have been housebroken within 24 hours (and charlie was 16 weeks and used to living in his own waste when we got him)
and theyve always been fast to learn all kinds of tricks and good manners...dad likes to teach his dogs to hold very still, hell but a treat or ball on their nose and make them hold it and wait...our old female meg, he put a treat on her nose one time made her wait and then got distracted making dinner...it was almost 45 mins before he realized she was still sat there starting at him DROOLING with this treat on her nose lol, and hes left the room multiple times so she had plenty of time to "oops i dropped it" Charlie will do the same trick, he knows high five and will give his right paw, "the other one" means left paw" and gimme 10 means both. he used to do all kinds of jumping tricks and all sorts but then suffered a herinated disk so too mcuh jumping/running is now off the table lol but as a breed, LOVE them and i dont think mum and dad would ever be without one.

Hopefully, it's a step in the right direction. Hubby doesn't want any animals in "his" house. So, unless he changes his mind, dies or we split up, it will be awhile B4 I get one. :(

I've told him B4 it's my house too. Right now, I'm not arguing the point w/him since I don't have the time to work w/a puppy. But, I am praying about it.

I think Buddy almost had another seizure last night as his breathing was ragged and his body was very hot. Actually it was warm last night and very warm last Wed. Seems like heat is key. Held ice pack on his back and a little on his head. I was told that the more seizures they have, the more they will have so we are trying to prevent them. Supposed to be warm the next three nights.

As far as house news goes the news changes every other day so we just wait.

Yesterday was cooking day. Made 2 pounds of pico de gallo, breakfast burrito filling for the week and potato salad. Today just a baked sweet potato pudding. Also going through my office tote which also stores seed packets. Organizing time!
