OK, on the topic of judgment, there are 2 different judgments in the Bible.

1. The Bema seat of Christ. This is the judgment of Christians. It is NOT a judgment of your sins. They are already forgiven and forgotten

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.

1 John 2:1,2 My little children, these things write I unto you, tha ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for our only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Propitiation carries w/it the idea of the price being paid for sins, and the wrath of God being averted. It is thru nothing that we have done, Christ has done it all.

Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

However, we must appear b4 the Judgment seat of Christ to be judge for our works-NOT as a means of salvation, but to show what we've done for Christ AFTER salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay that that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble-Every man's work shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built upon it, he shall receive a reward if any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet as by fire.

There are other verses, but these are the main ones.

As for the unsaved, they will also be judged by their works, but they will meet a different end.

Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead that were in them, and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. this is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Thanks for posting that DD.

I think for the safety of the study we ought to move away from a life based study and back to a Bible based one.

I think we need to start reading Romans. Is everyone in agreement?

Sounds good to me. I also wanted to tell everyone about something that happened. I asked for prayers a couple of weeks ago about a risk we were taking for someone. This had me really stressed and sick to my stomach. Just real quick info-my bil got in trouble and we were trying to help him and it required signing a sig. bond for $125,000.(yeah, a LOT of trouble) Dh has always felt responsible for his brother and is always trying to pick up the pieces and help him go straight. So he went to sign it only to find out his Aunt had already taken care of it all. She called later to tell bil that she didn't want us to be responsible for him since we had enough to take care of with 3 kids and just trying to get by on our own!

Oh Rebecca, when people get themselves into that kind of trouble, they don't need a bailout, they need to learn a lesson. Your DH has to learn that helping like that is really not helping at all, it is called enabling.

I am not being judgemental when I say this...I am being truthful. Your BIL needs to take responsibility for his own actions. Don't ever allow him to get ou guys in over your head cause he won't care when you guys crash...

Morel, i know you are not. It is the absolute truth. He has always had someone pick up the pieces for him. Everytime he swears that it won't happen again and it does. I told dh to do what he thought was right. Anyway, not having that burden is a HUGE relief to me and my impending ulcers. LOL

Exactly what I am saying! Your prayers were heard and he took care of it for us by burdening his Aunts heart to take our place.
