Good Morning, I'm new here....a special person directed me to this thread.

I'll try not to be in the way or slow you down- most of my online time is in the evenings after the kiddos pack it in for the night, so I will be more of a "lurker".

On vacation right now - had a little free time today, so I thought I'd check this out.

Thanks in advance for your support.
Hi Farmer Jamie, I guess I'm a "lurker" too....why does that sound like a stalker or something?

I'm new to Bible study so don't feel ready to comment yet, but they have encouraged me anyways! :welcome
:hugs You lurkers are so sweet!! :)
Yes they are!!

Welcome Bee! We are on Galatians Chapter 3 today if you would like to read and study with us this evening.

Should we adjourn on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday? Or start back Sunday? What does everyone think?

Let's start back Sunday. We're not having church Sunday, and I'd love to enjoy my normal church time with ya'll.

I don't understand how people do not equate Faith with Trust
You have to have trust to have faith. That being said, I would have totally failed the test given Abraham's situation.

So does this mean God loves Jew and Gentile equally?

[From what I have been reading I see that Paul was sent to Galatia because they were bringing the Jewish Laws back, right?
Techically a Gentile is one from the nations that doesn't believe in the Holy One.

If you are a "grafted in" person, you are a "Ger", or "Proselyte"

In Judaism, one that chooses to be Jewish, is held in very high esteem. Once you go into the waters of the mikvah/baptism you are never to be reminded of your "old life", you are then fully a Jew, same as one born Jewish.

When one is "grafted in" to "Believing Israel", there is no longer a wall of separation between the different nations and the Jews. We are to be "ONE" as Messiah is ONE with the Father.

That is really awesome, I never knew that. But I do have a question...does it have to be specifically Judaism that the person believes and becomes part of, or is it the entire body of Christ, as in bible believer, not as in Baptist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian etc. To me those are just titles. I know it's more than that, but I'd be hard pressed to find a church that believes EVERYTHING I do around here in the sticks ;)

Well, in Christian circles, yes, you are one who is now grafted into "The Commonwealth of Believing Israel"...

But, it wouldn't be prudent to call yourself "Jewish" in traditional Jewish circles. That wouldn't go over very well. Considering most Othodox consider us, "Messianic Jews" to be worse than Hiltler.

Hitler destroyed bodies, if what we believe is not true, we are detroying souls.

Of course, we KNOW who the Messiah is, and what He accomplished for us who trust in Him, our traditional Jewish brothers have yet to see Him as Messiah.
