I tried a scarf on half the rectangle purple loom. I think it was a double stitch, kinda like what they show in the picture. The scarf was thick and gorgeous but used a ton of yarn. I took it off the loom and used the yarn for something else.

Wifezilla how do you make those pom pom balls that go on the top of the hat?

Thickers yarns work better on the KK. One of my favorites to use is Wooleze. It is a machine washable wool blend. Comes in all kinds of colors. I just used the purple KK to make myself a scarf out of Wooleze Chunky. The color was "Wheat".
Thanks WZ and Gina! I am going today! I am excited! Between learning this and learning to quilt my winter evenings should be full! :)

Thanks Dace. I really liked the idea of giving hand crafted things for Christmas. I think with a small toy and the hats everyone will be happy.

Thanks Wifezilla. that's what I thought on the pom poms. I am going to see If I have enough of the coordinating colors left to add some for the boys. I put the flower on my nieces. It turned out pretty cute.

Delia good luck on your crafts. I will be out of town for a couple days. I am sure when I return you will have a ton already done. :thumbsup

I had to stop and take a break. I have been loading all my last minute stuff in the trailer. Up and down the stairs lat least ten times already. My knee hurts!!

We are heading out after dh gets home around 3pm. I hate leaving this late in the day. It will get us there just before dark. Setting up camp in the dark is not fun. I guess I can leave most of it until morning. That's one good thing about the toy hauler. Our living quarters are separate from the quads and bikes. I don't have to see them. :D

My rhino is still broke. We have no idea whats wrong with it. Something electrical. So this leave me a ton of down time. I packed extra yarn and all my looms. I will hopefully come back with socks!!! :weee

Well just a couple more things to load and then I need to feed and water the chickens.

See you all next week. That sounds funny. See ya???? Ok Ok whatever.

what could I make with the knifty knitter? I've tried to crochet. not a pretty site. I'd love to be able to knit or crochet, but it's just not in the cards for me.

so you can knit scarves, what else? I'd love to try it. it was only about $12 at WM. and yarn doesn't seem too expensive. Oh great just what I need. another craft!

I'm in the middle of cross stitching a "Home Sweet Home", going to be making pot holders to put in my home made canned stuff baskets for Christmas. I'm even THINKING about going out in the yard, finding twigs of equal diameter, and some small nails and making the baskets out of those. I have directions in one of my craft books, soooo cute!

I digress..... the knitter??

Here are some of the things I have made on a KK...

Folk art dolls

A model of my friend's dog...

A fuzzy caterpillar...

A penguin...

A brain slug (from Futurama)

A "snow crab" (get it?!?! :gig I crack me up!!)

and a fruity-oaty octopus...

So while hats and scarves are the main thing you make with a KK, you are not limited to those 2 items.

Those are great Wifey. Such imagination. I tried the booties / socks while out in the desert last weekend. Uhhhh let's just say I need to work on them a bit more. I did however get a really cute ides. The book had a picture of these tiny little red and white Santa style hats. They then put them on the tops of mason jars. I am thinking maybe some type of cookie mix would be good.

If I make a prototype I will post a picture.

Turkey day was fine Dace. I have learned to just kick back have a cocktail and let the rest go by in a blur. I don't usually fight the current over there, just wears me out.
