Good Morning Dace, This little old lady was such a spitfire. She lived on the Near the Back side of Camp Pendleton in a senior gated community of manufactured homes. It was gorgeous.

Ahhhh I hate when you type and loos it. :he :he

My mom is up in Fullerton. I dont see her as much as I should. But we talk almost daily if not more on the phone. She is pretty much house bound by choice. I have a 55 year old brother who lives with her and helps her. I don't like to have my kids around him. He has issues.

Quick comment on the California missions project.

My DGD10's 4th grade teacher gave the kids complete creative freedom to build their missions. DGD10 chose San Luis Obispo. She built her mission out of rice krispy treats and candy, using frosting and peanut butter as mortar. I had taken her to the mission when we went camping the summer before, and she took a lot of pictures and when you compared the pictures to the candy shapes, they were spot on.

When we went to open house, she stood by it just absolutely beaming. Some of the other missions were obviously built from kits or the parents built them. they were too perfect. I was VERY proud of DGD, and also of her mother, who herself has very little creativity. She is a logical mathematics type, but was able to really encourage and support DGD in her creativity. She got a B+.

Love it! I've actually been to that mission, the only one I've ever been to!

I tried to convince my son to build his mission with sugar cubes, frosting's, fondant etc.. All mediums which I am familiar with. He insisted on the kit. Which I am sure was because of his teacher. And yes my sons will look generic and like on a parent helped with it. It was the only way to get him to focus long enough. He liked the glue and building of the mission shape but could not give a flying fig about the details. Maybe I should have left it plain. :idunno

His class went to the Mission San Juan Capistrano yesterday as a field trip. He said it was boring. His mission project is on San Diego de Alcala.

At least it's done. :fl

What a racket.

Capistrano, to see the swallows?

San Luis Rey is closer and bigger, more to see.

I know dacs.

I lost count somewhere in between the plastic palm tree and the modeling clay we needed to make a fountain.

Ok I guess. I had some major headache yesterday. I used Splenda in my coffee for the first time. Not sure if it was a sugar withdrawal or the splenda. I went back to regular sugar this morning. I am eating pretty much all veggies, cheese, nuts and meat. Except for a couple bites of that brown rice the other night. I don't have a scale, well I have one but the battery died. So I have no idea if I have lost any weight. It's been a week, maybe I will measure again.

Last night for dinner I made a big pot of Italian sausages with all kinds of veggies in a homemade spaghetti sauce. I had mine over spaghetti squash. Th family had angel hair. I figure hat was one guilty pleasure I would let the kids have. They have been doing so well otherwise.

I was curious what you put in your smoothies. The ones you have for breakfast. I made the kids a fruit smoothies after school a couple days ago. Frozen, banana, peaches, blueberries, strawberries, and yogurt and half and half. Anyways I had about 4 oz. and immediately slipped into a coma. Like I was sitting on the sofa trying to read to my 7yo and I was slurring my words and nodding off. Very not the norm for me.

I am going back to Frazier Farms today. I can't believe how fast I am burning through those darn carrots.

I am going to sit down and put together a menu for the next few days first. I am trying to use the meats in my freezer and build with veggies.

I drained my kefir again this morning. This time I saved it and replaced the milk with a really good organic milk I bought. I bought a milk that came in a really cute glass quart jar. I figured it would be perfect for storing the finished kefir. So I splurged and spent an extra buck fifty. :D

Now what do I do with it? Drink as is? Can I sweeten it? Is it best just to use it in smoothies? I was reading a ton on Dom's web site about all the cheese products he makes with kefir. I cant wait. I am definitely going to do the sour cream and cream cheese. Real cheese kinda intimidates me. This seems easier.

Anyways, that's about it. I am kinda walking in circles. Trying to stay busy. If I stay home it save money but then I feel bored and restless. Not much to do in the garden except water right now. I built a large run for my chickens on the weekend. Trying to keep them out of my garden. Yesterday I put bird netting over the top. It looks like my Roo escaped today. I need to cull several birds and just can't work up the nerve. I am burning through food and need to scale back.

I feel kinda in a funk. dh had a great new plan last week about work and a new business. So I asked him what he was going to do and he said "nothing". Ok.

So then my fil came up with a fishing trip for the holiday weekend. But he wants to do boys only. Not the way we like to do things with our family. Or at least not me. My dh says the boys need time to themselves. Uggg.. I am the last person to take time for myself. Maybe a bit dramatic but I think we have more important issues right now. And if I did try, I would get the major guilt trip.

Grrrr...

So it's just another day, another load of wash and more dishes around here. Nothing too exciting. How are you guys doing? Still planning to move? That's got to be hard. Have you talked with the school district again about teaching?? I hope that comes through for you.

Have a great day.
