TTs Chicks Pics and Ramblings

Snake stew? :P Belt?

Now there is just a small handful of critters that give me the willies, I can handle eight legged things, varmints of any kind, anything that flies, but those snakes give me the willies.

On the farm the old well pump was set into a concrete block 4 foot square with a metal lid on top, in the summer in would always be full of all sorts of snakes. If the breaker blew inside, we'd lift the lid with a tool handle. Often times there would be so many snakes that when we did lift the big lid off we would kill one or two, there were just that many.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SNAKE. (shiver, shiver, gooseflesh, crawly scalp)

Really, do you think I hae a snake phobia?

MP - I'm not fond of snakes either. I bet everyone fought over who's turn it was to open that lid - makes me shudder just thinking about it

Tank - They aren't poisonous but they do eat eggs and will eat rabbits

Dace - sorry your DD had a bad experience :hugs for her

Wow, that's some snake! We only get garters around here, and they are never that big...not that I have seen anyway. Snakes don't bother me...but centipedes creep me right out!
Glad no one got hurt in your accident...I can so understand that college kid being scared! Been there, and I wish you had been the guy I hit :D It would have been a much better experience than I had!

And you wrangled that thing alone??? I don't know that I could do it even to protect my rabbit. :hide

you are braver than I! i left E nose to nose with a snake once...I didn't even wait to see if he got bit. I was gone.

scarily, that snake you wrangled is almost as long as my Aunt Gail is tall.... Aunt Gail is only 4' 11". :hide

My compliments on your construction skills. It does the job well and it shows imagination. That's how you should do things. Getting fancy is fine if you want to spend lots of money, but it's not needed.

Hubby and I used to drive around and peek into empty houses. When we lived in S. Ga. we walked up on a big porch and there layed a big snake. He pushed me (he said it was to get me off the porch - I say it was to get me out of his way). He hates snakes more than I. We used to make a few bucks out of rattlesnakes - he'd kill them, we'd pick them up with a shovel and put them in a container, then take them to a man who made belts, etc. If he wasn't home, we'd put them in a cooler, leave our address and he'd send a check.

I hate snakes!

I'm not brave I'm just used to doing things like that dh has always worked shift work and can't be there to do it. I used the lopers so I didn't have to get to close. Thanks dragon - I do a lot of improvising
