got needle in knee
drained a ton of fluid

3 xrays he said wait and see no visible damage

he thinks I hurt it, then the fluid screwed up the healing

so rest, rest and on anti-inflammatory pills then just wait and see if it improves

oh well.

yea, knee is sore LOL no one loves needles anywhere :p

Ouch!!! At least he got some of the fluid out. That should make it feel better.

Say off of it, take time to heal. :old

When my DW's horse kicked me ( I shouldn't have been talking politics to her) it cause a big golf ball sized bubble on my knee cap. Doctor felt it was fluid and said he could drain it when he did the surgery. After the operation he told me it had been chock full of gout crystals. He was grossed out.

The 1st knee took about 3 days to feel much better. I was taking 2 Percocet every 4-6 hours. Sometimes 3 hours. After 3 days I was down to 1 every 6 hours. On the knee that had the gout I was in extreme pain and the Percocet wasn't cutting it. I called the Dr after 5 days whining and said I thought the gout had gotten into the area that was healing. Just moving my knee a little bit spiked the pain to about a level 8. He agreed to give me a run of steroids. He didn't want to because it would slow the healing on the incision. It felt much better after 2 doses of the steroids. It did take 2 months for the knee to stop leaking pus though.

Better that than the pain though. I'm not a woman. I don't do pain very well. :/

Hope you get by with nothing else. Surgery sucks.

EEww that does sound like a real pain in the knee story. stinks when ya are down and out huh? I hate medical problems. I never had many, allergies etc...but this having trouble walking is not cool.

yea he shot a load of steriods in after he pulled the fluid.

I tell ya it hurts more now lol the soreness stinks so just trying some ice and staying off it. I hope I don't have to go back cause he said sometimes 1 time does it, sometimes people have to have fluid drained 2-3 times before good healing starts. ugh......as much as I hope this is kinda over, I get the feeling it isn't. But slowing down for real and staying off feet now. I want this to heal fast so taking care of the stupid knee now lol

I have a huge baker's cyst on the back of my right knee. Some days, it really hurts. But, I don't want an operation, so I've just been dealing w/it. Hope your knee feels better, soon. :hugs

yea Deb
I know exactly what you mean! can't you get that dealt with under a local pain shot, or do they have to "cut deep" on that and put you under?

I have a stupid bunion on one foot, heck I can barely find shoes that don't hurt that thing. the bone sticks out far. (probably all those young years in very high heels lol)

I said to the Dr....can ya fix that easily....(knowing it was an operation)
without surgery HAHA he said, nope, under you go, we cut the bone and realign the foot....yikes.....NOT JUST YET but one day lol

if I have to go under the knife for anything--I will have the foot fixed at the same time LOL
