Wannabefree said:So much for my garden plans. I can't get anyone out to break ground that won't cost an arm and a leg. I am so close to just selling out, house and all and buying a frickin tent and some canned goods. I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!!

Our ground is like concrete there is so much clay. It REALLY needs to have some massive poops and leaf mold dug in to even be worth the effort. So, I guess I could, but I really think it would be more work than benefit. so far I have done raised bed, and containers for what I have and was waiting to do the BIG stuff in the actual ground, things that don't require SO much, and aren't particularly picky about their soil. so I could grow an acre of okra, but I dunno what i'd do with all of itBubblingbrooks said:Can you just do the no till style?Wannabefree said:So much for my garden plans. And its so unhealthy for the soil.FarmerJamie said:What about digging a small "trench" that would be the row you plant the seeds? In a wheelbarrow or such, whip up your "potting soil" and fill the trench with that. Then mulch the heck (got free newspapers from local free publications??) out of the rest of the garden in between the rows.
Plowing up the whole garden looks nice, but is so over-rated.![]()
Having spent many a long Spring weekend plowing my grandpa's fields in my younger days, it does look so perty when you're done though....Bubblingbrooks said:And its so unhealthy for the soil.FarmerJamie said:What about digging a small "trench" that would be the row you plant the seeds?
