It wasn't today, but this week I dehydrated 10 pounds of pretty good apples. Not sure if I posted it elsewhere, as I am running on empty right about now.

My new dehydrator needed the jar attachment, so I ordered the caps from one place and the hose from another...the caps came today. I can't wait to put some of these dehydrated veggies under a vacuum that won't leak out.

ETA: I forgot, I also dehydrated several heads of cabbage, blanched first. Two heads fit in a quart sized ziplock.

I am making beef jerky today. My family can't get enough of jerky, and now that I am making it myself they wont go back to prepackaged jerky.

Also banana chips, I love banana dehydrated, it tastes just like banana taffy.

I am dehydrating leeks! I got a good price on some beautiful organic leeks at the health food store the other day. I like to slice them into thin ringlets wash them well and dehydrate them for use in soups and recipes. Much more convenient than trying to keep them to use them fresh.

You should try my Leek and Potato Soup with a creamy chicken stock base. YUM! :drool

FarmFresh, thank you for reminding me to do leeks! They are going to be awesome in my jars of soup mix, the potato mushroom one.

Okay, the is is wierd, but I am going to try dehydrating marshmallows for my hot chocolate mixes. I have no idea if it will work, but tomorrow I am going to give it a shot. You just never know !

Leeks for soup. Sliced fresh ginger and lemon slices for tea. Orange zest for simmering potpourri.

I put the last of the stevia into the dehydrator. The quality is not so hot, but it will be perfect for flavoring the goat's herbal dewormer that I STILL haven't gotten around to making, and need to do NOW! Before anyone is preggers!
